Two threads on the matter.. Two OP's that missed a very important three words in there own articles.. "on our terms" Trump then told Lighthizer and Kudlow to “take a look at getting us back into that agreement, on our terms of course,” How is it that two Progressives missed this simply but important quote?
Because we are educated. TPP is a huge Advantage for the United States trade. The Asians are desperate to have us side with them against China and are negotiators took advantage of that. I figure Larry Kudlow set the guy down and said listen schmuck. How is it that you regurgitate nothing more than fox talking points
Maybe it's because Trump gave away all of his negotiating leverage on this on his first day in office. Meanwhile, while Fox was busy condemning James Comey and Bob Mueller, and celebrating Trump's latest display of boorish stupidity, the rest of the world moved on without us. The Trans Pacific Partnership exists. Only the US isn't in it. I'm quite sure that our Asian allies would prefer to have us in the TPP as a bulwark against Chinese expansion. But given Trump's bellicose and erratic behavior, probably not as enthusiastic as they once might have been. In any case, Trump is going to have a tough time dictating terms to anyone, given his bad faith behavior, and his erratic sabre rattling. Credibility is an issue, and that is something Trump does not have.
More Chump bullshit noise. To re-enter the TPP under any conditions would take years. Even if anyone believed he was serious.
