So is this "We will have no choice but to destroy N Korea." before or after
"They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen" ?

Remember from the gun control topic, many on the left believe people have a duty to allow themselves to be murdered rather than harming a would-be assailant.

Accordingly, among Democrats are those who believe we MUST allow Kim Jung Un to murder millions of Americans, reduce DC, LA, NYC etc to radioactive wastelands, and obliterate the US economy FIRST. Then, and only then, can we retaliate. Thus, the USA has received what some believe is just punishment and having complied with the ethical duty to allow yourself to be murdered before fighting back.

You're right. That has always been the case. Actual wars do not make money for military companies. A threat of war allows selling "defence" equipment to other countries - actual wars risk the demonstration of that equipment purchased being useless in times of war. I used to work in a military company called Plessey Avionics - we made our biggest profit not from the actual equipment sold but on upgrade modifications and maintenance of the equipment sold. If that equipment was destroyed in a war, modifications and maintenance was no longer possible

I'm certainly not a left winger but I totally disagree with Trump's approach to North Korea. To be more precise neocons approach to the world affairs as they are obviously in charge of the U.S foreign policies. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence knows that neoconservative policies will have disastrous consequences not only for the USA but the whole world. Reflect on their past policies. Abject failures that indebted Americans for another 50 years if not more. Noth Korea is a side show. Those lunatics want to attack Iran.

All you have demonstrated is being incapable of or too lazy to responding for which you then divert to juvenile and pointless personal attacks.

In debate, that is called conceding and throwing a tantrum over losing.

Gadafi and Hussein stopped their nuke program and look what happened to them. It is rational for NK to want nukes and a way to put them in the US, in order to keep our arses out of their nation. Afterall, we have held war games off of NK for 50 years, reminding them we could come at any time. A rational nation, knowing US history since ww2, would want some insurance and the best insurance, the only insurance is having the ability to attack back, attack america. Yet we say NK is irrational? LOL Newspeak, double speak, deception. And people fall for it.

If the US were to invade NK, China has already told us what they would do. Someone has to put a stop to our war mongering, as we blame it on the people that we attack, like Hussein, and Gadafi.

Just remember, the Germans thought they were in the right as well. Such good germans, such good americans, while being blind to the objective and common sense, logic.

NK wants to be left the hell alone. Too much to ask when it comes to the US. So what does NK have in resources that our oligarchs want? We are still in afghanistan because they got trillions in resources that our elites and their puppets in DC want.

Gen Butler was right in his book, War is a Racket, and yet our own people are too stupid to even understand any of this. Well, stupid people sometimes end up getting killed in their own stupidity. Bad part is, the intelligent, rational get to die with them.

I fully expect a nuclear war, whether intentional or through a mistake. For we have madmen in DC who believe we can win it. Or they can win it, but the rubes here will be incinerated. But you got what you wanted. You just lost. Yet it was such fun to watch the US invade sovereign nations, was it not? As long as you could watch it sipping a beer on TV in your easy chair. No skin in the game. Modern american entertainment. All that I know is empires do not last. And this one here is trying to take itself out. And both parties are to blame, not just trump and the GOP.

So is he telling NK to stop their defensive nuke program? After the two nations that did just that got invaded and their ruler removed, killed? LOL NK is not that irrational. It is only the irrational here who do not understand what is going on with NK. They want to be able to keep our arses OUT. Perfectly responsible and rational behavior. We are the irrational here. But you gotta be rational in order to see it.

We are the war mongers, period and the evidence is there. We invade based upon lies. This looks like what an evil dark empire does. Yet americans cannot see it. For they do not pay attention and have short term memory loss. But this gov't is not serving you, and it is no longer by and for the people. We are a fascist oligarchy empire and we act just like what we are. And our people are so easily fooled that we enable this evilness.

The problem is that America's neocons never learn from their mistakes. Ever. And there's nothing they like better than sexy air strikes on another small country.

We don't consider it a defensive nuclear program

Why doesn't Vietnam or Laos need nuclear weapons for defense against America?

America loves war. What could be more exciting for neocons, than planting their fat bums on the couch and binge-watching CNN for weeks? All that sexy weaponry splattering civilians all over the roads...

Many Democrats are still furious that they aren't going to get the war with Russia that Hilary Clinton repeatedly promised. The Democratic Party is the neocon pro-war party now, or more specifically the pro-war International Corporate Fascism Party.

That is President Obama's true legacy. Other than WW2, no president bombed more countries than Democrat Obama.

If they had known what would've happened to them during 60's and 70's (millions of civilians killed for no reason whatsoever, infrastracture completely destroyed just for the sake of it etc.) they would have also pursued nuclear weapons. Being a nuclear power keeps the USA
at bay. The USA only attacks defensless countries.

I see that hisory is not your best subject

The Vietnam War was over by 1974 thanks to backstabbing democrats in congress

And vietnam still does not have or need to have nuclear weapons to defend itsself against America

Democrats are no better as a whole. The MIC, Israel and the Sauds decide what your foreign policies will be, no matter the color of the party that's in. The "President" just follows the lines.

It's past your petty sqabbles about your right-center party and your center-right one.

If defending ourselves and our allies is "war crimes" then I think we need more "war crimes" and people who call for them.

Especially I liked this portion of his speech. America may also start shooting down a North Korean missile, even if its trajectory does not indicate it would hit the US. I agree with what Trump said about North Koreans, who are a "band of criminals."

I get the same stupid narrative that our leftists have supported since Clinton... that America has been laisez - faire with Rocket boy/NK that got us to this point, both parties presidents failed all of us.... And I understand your concerns about innocents but what do you propose we do? Doing nothing is not an option I'm offering. That got us here. It's an earnest question. KJU shoots with anti aircraft guns publicly mentors/family he's known his entire life and or feeds them to alive to starving dogs. How do you negotiate with a subhuman?

That being said I listened to the entire speech and my mouth was hanging open after the first 15 minutes. That was one of the most powerful, earnest, sincere inclusive speeches that came across as believable... That I've heard in many years.

Cmon it was impressive. I wondered who hijacked my Presidents mouth for a while there.

Leftists need to shut up trying to fit Trump into their little left vs right boxes. He's not either. He's crapped on the non effective GOP congress multiple times already. They didn't support him in the election and they don't now.

None of your shallow bored opinions matter. I heard a president talking today and I'm very happy about what I heard as an American first and our place in the world as well.

Don't like it? Too bad. We are going to do what is best for America.

    Edit -
    for a gdamn change

It was a great speech, and he means every word he said. It was powerful. The word sovereign was very effective, and boo hoo to anyone that is unhappy with it.
