So, he wants to use the government to kill the competition? Sounds like he doesn't believe in free markets. Why would you support that? That's how communists operate.

Why can't the consumers decide what kid of car they want to drive?

I guess FAUX News didn't show Biden's "not on my watch" comments. And he did NOT say anything about a bloodbath.

I already acknowledged that his comment was with respect to the Chinese cheap EV imports in a previous post.

    Welcome to the forum, btw.

Why can't Americans have cheap cars? Why do you want the government to prevent it?

Oh , you don’t have to vote for Biden the senile. Republican had the choice of nominating a former UN Ambassador, a governor from East Coast, a governor of Western State, a governor of Midwest, a former VP of USA and all of them have very conservative ideology with proven record, but GOP nominated “I want to be Dictator for one day”. GOP had the same choice in 2016 with 15 candidates with excellent conservative record, yet GOP nominated “Pu** grabbing Trump”. now some conservative wants to say “ we have no choice but vote for Trump because DEMS policies are so bad”. If policy is the reason to vote, GOP voter would have nominated Scott Walker( 2016) or Mike Pence or Asa Hutchinson.

I believe it was and it wasn't (related to Chinese imports). He used Biden's name directly before the bloodbath comment. I believe that was a Freudian slip, and that with his Narcissistic nature, he actually believes that his more extreme base will engage in another January 6th. I think the radical groups that he summoned to the capitol have learned their lesson, and would not repeat this horror story. But not Trump. That's the way a narcissist thinks.

GOP had 9 different choices to nominate someone other then Trump, but GOP nominated “ I want to be dictator on day one”.

I will never watch ANYTHING you post again. You just wasted 10 min of my life watching some fat italian man talk about himself with NO CLIPS from the actual trump quote your OP mentions. He was referring to an economic bloodbath for the auto industry. Nice try. NOT!!

Apologist = a person who offers an argument in defense of something controversial.

We have quite a few posters here who always rush in to explain what Trump 'really' meant.

So, I ask again: What was the hidden meaning in "rooting out the vermin"?

LOL! Cenk is from Turkey, that's why his channel is called "The Young Turks". Well, Turkey, Italy... it's probably all the same for the regular MAGA supporter.

Plus, if you had listened to what he said, you'd have noticed that Cenk agreed with the righties on this thread, namely that Trump's "bloodbath" comment referred to the American auto industry. Plus, fat-shaming him? Typical..... You hit all the expected MAGA checkmarks.

    I think you’re right.

This is one of Trump’s tricks.

Tack a statement like this “bloodbath” statement into one of his campaign speeches.

The Trump nation audience hears the message loud and clear, and is also pre equipping his fans with an excuse to deny what Trump actually meant (and what they heard).

It’s not like the Trump mob actually cares. They got to see their messiah thump his chest.

While repeating the same sort of dystopian claim that he has already acted on (Jan 6), and has threatened periodically ever since.

Trump is playing his base in a way that fits a long standing pattern.

And generating the sort of fake media controversy that he thrived on in the past.

Right wings have an excuse to deny the message they got loud and clear. Everyone else is outraged.

It’s the same tactic he uses when he’s race baiting.

    Exactly.
IF Trump wanted to.avoid any misinterpretation of his words...
THIS is how he should have phrased the sequence (added words in parentheses):
"Now, if I don't get elected, it's gonna be a bloodbath for the whole (auto industry) ... that's gonna be the least of it, it's gonna be a/an (economic) bloodbath for the country, that'll be the least of it."
    ^Problem solved.
Clear as day (what Trump meant). And, no chance for misinterpretation or "taking out of context".
BUT, Trump (as always) screwed it up.

Well Trump isn't going to change how China and Mexico do business with each other, irrelevant whether or not he gets elected. At best, it was a stupid statement, at worst, it's Trump being himself and acting like 1/6.

and the people who actually worry about that flippant comment are never going to vote GOP anyway. Trump has never been my first choice in a primary

Let's examine the policies of both parties, judicial appointments etc. The left wants to complain about mean tweets rather than abject incompetence of Biden's administration

well I do suspect they are far more likely to support Trump than Biden but they are a minor fringe.

Trumps ‘bloodbath’ notion must be such a great boost for Americans with guns as it provides them an excuse to blow people away with those weapons that have hitherto been locked away and unloved.
For a country totally in love with Death, Trump knows which buttons to press.

If your campaign attracts that "minor" fringe then you need to seriously examine your message.

The fact that Trump is someone's choice in ANY election is a problem.
