Without men going to space, there is no reason to explore it. The whole foundation is that we settle our solar system and beyond.

    You left out this part:

"By a vote of 433-105, the members of the European Parliament called for the project to be cancelled because, ‘It is a political project that poses a threat to European energy security and the efforts to diversify energy supply.'

You pretend this is an America Only action against poor little Germany, but the EP has called for this to be cancelled.

Who are they? Why, the European Parliament is the legislative branch of the European Union!

Russia has escape clauses in their contract with Allseas, who is laying this pipe, and only 4 other companies in the world are capable of doing this work. With Russia's escape clauses, ALL the burden falls on Allseas investors if they continue work even a single day after President Trump signs this bipartisan legislation.

So what happens to this company if they don't cease work immediately:
    • Block all assets in U.S. jurisdiction, including their U.S. headquarters in Houston, TX
    • Cutting Allseas off from U.S. markets
    • Block transactions with anyone in the U.S. or anyone using the U.S. financial system
    • Denying key leaders in the company visas to enter the U.S.
Looks like they have a choice to make. Remember when you were thumbing your nose at us and declaring us powerless to stop Germany from free-loading their defense off the US taxpayer?

    Don't worry, be happy!

No a loser is someone who thinks they're so great and 'hedgemon of Europe' but is a pathetic freeloader. I don't give a damn about the pipeline. I'm perfectly fine with Russia getting something out of Germany because they are one of the few countries that gets any benefit from Germany.

Where the U.S. screwed up is rebuilding Germany after WW2. We should have agreed with the Soviets to back off a few months until we had about 30 atomic bombs and just flattened it into an uninhabited wasteland.

The EU parliament makes no law for german energy projects. Those ate decided in Berlin.

Beside there is no choice to make. We just replace the company with nation owmed ships that can do the work, namely the Fortuna. Allseas can lay pipeline in 300m deep water, Fortuna only im 100m deep water. Turnsout Allseas completed the deep water work and all what remains to be done can be made by Fortuna.

You cant stop the pipeline from being build. All you can do is delay it by 2 months.

Meanwhile we cut gas transitt through Ukraine by 50%. We dont need support Ukraine any longer. Your hostile act is amswered buddy.

More empty threats. You sound like a desperate housewife.

Go on, leave NATO. Do it. Dude we get sick of your empty threats. You sound like that girl at school that nobody likes but she pays evrything for others to gain friends. Also threatens suicide and cuts herself but nobody gives a ****.

I have no clue what Trump will or won't do about an agreement that I didn't know about until today.

The Artemis program is very poorly planned anyway. You don't need that big space station near the moon to land manned missions there. We had no trouble putting the Apollo missions on the moon 50 years ago without one. Dr. Robert Zubrin who I consider the best expert on all things manned space wise thinks its a bad idea. As does Buzz Aldrin (2nd man on the moon).

Be reasonable Sobo. Without the United States, there is no NATO. Without NATO the Russians would be throwing their weight around Europe in ways that has not happened in your short lifetime.

Aldrin is a fool and always was. We need to build infrastructure. If that has to be a station around the moon or a base on the moon is the question.

Then why bother with the rant?

Also, you forgot to mention that:

    1. Fortuna is capable of laying just 1 km/d.
    2. The Danish permit application states that it is assumed that the vessels used to complete the Danish section will have dynamic positioning capabilities (such as those of the Allseas vessels) which are not present on Fortuna.

They have no weight, they are an ecomomic dwarf. We have corporations that hold more economic power than Russia.

Denmark permitts what we demand. A call by us and its done.

And yes, with Allseas it was 2km per day. So works were estimated to be completed in one month. Without Allseas its estimated it will be completed in 2 months.

Fortuna already left Sassnitz to take over.

And our vice chancellor said this pipeline will be completed, no matter what.

So whats your next steps since its obvious we dont back off? Will you attack or sabotage it?

Will you launch a terror attack at its inauguration?

Yep. Without NATO, Russia would be treating the EU like Germany now treats the EU.

Very true. But they have quite a few guns and troops. More than all the other NATO nations combined in central Europe (German and eastward).

Would they, with nuclear powers UK and France close by?

Note: Crimea voted to join Russia: East Ukraine is like N. Ireland; if they want to keep killing one-another, that's their choice, since the UNSC can't stop this (useless) war.

ie, does Russia want to invade Europe? Certainly the USSR wanted to see the collapse of liberal democratic capitalism in Europe, but those days are long gone.
Who needs NATO now, in an age of MAD?

Yet Aldrin was one of those who did what no non American has ever done. That counts for something.

You seriously think the U.S. would bother attacking a pipeline in Europe? Why?

If you hadn't brought it up no one at Political Forum would even know about it.

Yes, we are literally shaking in our boots. I mean you may take a day off from your secretarial job, speed home to your flat in a midget euro car, and turn all keyboard warrior on us. :bored:

United Kingdom and French nuclear arsenals are largely for show. To allow both to pretend they are still major powers. If they used them against the Russians it would be acts of national suicide.

We put a rover on a comet something no american has ever done.

If you are into the topic, you propably know that Aldrin has little to no respect from other Astronauts.

Because he was (is) considered a glory seeking jerk. That doesn't change what he accomplished. Or the validity of his opinion.
