I dig how he aims to make it free of charge but I don't like the fact that he refuses to listen to Fauci.
Trump wants to open schools earlier than we all expected. It's important to understand that although younger kids aren't in as much as a risk as the older folks, they can always pass it on to their parents and grandparents.

Summer break is basically a few weeks a way is it not? What possible sense is there in opening them up now if they're just going to shut back down for summer?

It only makes sense if the work that was lost in the spring is going to be made up in the summer and then transition directly to the new school year in September, no summer break.

Just cram an extra 2 hours into the school day. 9 AM to 5 PM. Literally train their clocks for a full time job.

What does a free vaccine - which is one year away at least - have to do with the re opening of schools now?

Didn’t we hear 1 year to 18 months back in January? So surely I’d hope we made some time unless all they did was talk about it.

I'm not completely up to date, but I'm not aware that they have one yet. In March, Fauci hoped that they'd have one in 2 months. The timeline includes all the necessary testing in phases - which pushes it out to 12-18 months.

It’s better than an extended school year. Most would choose 2 more hours a day as opposed to 6 additional months

Do we have any stats yet on how students are doing with the online school? If they're doing well, might be worth continuing even past the Cvirus.

Kindergarten was a half day plus a nap, but from first grade through 12th we went from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with gym class becoming mandatory in 7th grade. It was full days but short days, only 7 hours of instruction and a 30 minute lunch and 5 minutes to change classrooms. Easy peasy for kids. Grammar pounded into you like an old steam drill.

Hell, since they are so robust, and don't die off, put them to REAL work, as meatpackers. That will certainly train them for the real world.

Trump's moving everything out past the election.
That way he suffers no consequences when he reneges should he win.

Democrats are the only ones playing politics with the pandemic. Trump’s doing the best he can.

    It's up to the Gov's.

Nearly 40% of low-income households hit by job loss.

Trump is doing the best he can, to cover up the damage, and make his people ignore reality. That is NOT the best he should.

    To the poll.
I haven't seen any data about how many kids have had the virus. Before you restart schools it seems like you would want to know if they just don't catch it or if they are asymptomatic and will just bring it home.

    Which Fauci do you like.

The one who told us in Jan that the Wuhan virus wasn't a threat to the US, or the one in Feb who said 2 million people were gonna die.

Do you like the one who told us sex with strangers is fine, or the one who told us not to shake hands.

Do you like the one who told us masks don't really work, or the one who told us we should be wearing masks.

Is that the one that explains why US kids are less educated than kids in foreign countries who spend more time learning?

I liked the Dr. Fauci before the Corona Virus when the virus was not spreading because it wasn't known to be very contagious, and I liked the Dr. Fauchi that told us it was determined to be a world wide deadly threat, because he was telling the truth in both of those instances.

I liked the Dr. Fauchi who said the priority was best for health care and immune-comprimized people, because these things were in very short supply and it was a low priority for regular people whk should be washing their hands and staying home.

You know, rational and extremely experienced and knowledgeable scientists rather than crazy Presidents who changed his minds without basis with which way the wind was blowing.
