That's not true. The prosecution asked for the maximum fine of $1000 and it was granted. Nothing Trump did was so egregious that they could get away with throwing him in jail.

The $1000 is not the worst part. The worst for Trump is that now he's a convicted criminal. So his conviction in this trial will not be his first offense. There is NO reason for the judge to show leniency when he sentences him.

You're allowed to criticize your judge. No idea why you don't think you can. Cohen has been profiting off this prosecution and has been attacking Trump. Additionally, the judge explicitly said the gag order wasn't supposed to prevent Trump from responding to attacks from others on the case. But we all knew he was lying. Most of what Trump did was retweeting news articles. And he claimed the jury was formed quickly, without targeting any specific juror. He also said one witness was nice, which the prosecution objected to (lol). Also, the prosecution specifically told the judge they didn't want Trump incarcerated because they didn't want to delay the proceedings so they requested the maximum fine which the judge happily obliged. What Trump did was extremely minor and they knew it.

Keep it up, Mr. Progressive. The more your pet judge pursues this strategy, the stronger Trump gets.

He knew that would happen and considered it a cheap benefit to his campaign. He will continue to do it.

That is so true that there is zero chance the judge will jail him. Trump will continue saying what he wants to say and paying his fines. His ability to comment is far more valuable than the fines. I think they will stop fining him since it helps him so much. I'm glad to see that political prosecution doesn't seem to work. It is a very bad idea.

I think they will give him 3 strikes, then they have to jail him if he continues, he will force their hand

Just watch. The court may be corrupt but it isn't stupid.

Political prosecutions are a bad idea, but once convicted, the Democrat press will run with it like an open field reception on a football field. They will make a mountain out of the molehill, just like they have with January 6. It won’t matter that the decision will be overturned on appeal. By then the election will be decided.

The crooked judge and the biased jury will have made its mark in history.

No chance at all, according to you MAGA types, that the Orange Stain is actually the criminal named in all those indictments ?

Yes but we aren't Trump running for election and facing a political prosecution.

That would depend on how quickly the appellate court can act. The justice system would do well to fix this corruption.

I'm not a MAGA type but I doubt he is guilty of anything meaningful. This is pure politics and not very pretty.

It's all bullshit, especially this Alvin Bragg case, which no one else would touch.

I'm with you. I am not a Trump fan, but these specious court cases are the Democrats main defense and offense because they are wrong and have a very weak position on most of the major campaign issues. That includes their open borders, excessive spending and soft on crime policies.

Another idiot was fined for yelling fire in a theatre. What else is new?
Hopefully, next time the judge will finally throw him in jail.

The best thing for Trump's campaign will be a corrupt judge, whose immediate family is directly profiting off this prosecution, putting Trump in jail for criticizing a serial perjurer or washed-up porn star who are directly profiting from this prosecution where the prosecutor came from Biden's DOJ who still hasn't even clearly defined the alleged crime.

When did we start to defend lying horribly as defending free speech? I can remember when ever your supporters abandoned you over egregious lying rather than demand your right to lie unobstructed.
