It's beyond credulity that Lee would have said that since it WAS Lee that devised the South's attack plans AND, no Southerner would ever talk like that in the first place.

At some point you have to imagine that people, even his supporters, would recognize his BULLSHIT for what it is.

It's so funny. Have you noticed that whenever he talks about some historic event that involves killing and tragedy for many people, he is incapable of leaving out the word "beautiful" to describe it? And when he realizes, he quickly tries to spin what it was he was referring to.

I'll also point you to the Cornerstone Speech, the writings and speeches of the secession officers, news articles about the 1860 election from the South, the entire 1860 election itself (which was around slavery), the declarations of causes, etc. etc. The only way to pretend that the Confederacy wasn't centered around slavery and white supremacy is to ignore virtually EVERY primary source from the south during the time period. I'd think you for playing, but you haven't even stepped on the field.

The political reasons for the South to secede are centered around the issue of slavery. Unfortunately for you that’s all you appear to know about the Civil War and the men who fought in it and I frankly think that one dimensional educational value is sorely lacking as you appear to be emotionally invested in hating people you actually know virtually nothing about.

You should really educate yourself on these subjects before copy pasting the same South=founded on slavery=all I need to know arguments that we hear from every single lib democrat who ironically go on to hate the US flag for exactly the same shallow and ignorant reasoning

The Civil War is actually much more complex. But you’d actually have to do…homework….to understand it.
