He can't refuse a salary, but it doesn't have to me more than $1.

Trump would be the 3rd President to refuse the salary. (John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover.)

So he will be taking $1. Bloomberg did the same thing as Mayor of NYC as I recall.

They donated their salary, by law they have to get a salary, it is a move to counter ideas that one could be corrupted by not taking a salary, but Trumpet has not dedicated his salary to any charitable cause as of yet...

While running up a $3 million per weekend travel bill (on the taxpayer's dime).

A travel expense (that at it's current pace) could exceed $100 million in the first year.

I wonder how many "Meals on Wheels" that could pay for?

But, Trump's delusional RW sycophants keep saying:

"But, he isn't taking his salary".

I think, at this point, Trump's "supporters" have been so blinded by Stockholm Syndrome that they don't even realize how ridiculous they appear to rational people.

Of course they don't care, but still.

Trump's sycophantic RW Fever Swamp is caught up in a narrative that (with each passing day) is getting impossible to defend.

All Presidents get travel expenses, health Insurance and a whole host of benefits.

Obama used his to campaign for Hillary and to fly Michelle all over the country.... where was your outrage?

Obama put us almost $10 trillion in debt and took his $400k lifetime salary plus security detail. Where is your outrage?

    Whoa....

"Mr Trump is not the first US leader to extend the symbolic gesture of forgoing a salary. Herbert Hoover, who made his fortune in mining before taking office, and John F Kennedy, who inherited his wealth, both gave up their salaries and donated them to charity."

personally I think in addition to every major federal department the military has room to make cuts of their w/o sacrificing much readiness if they approach it properly. There is a significant amount of redundancy there just as there is across the board.

If I had a useless gov't job, i'd be awful nervous what the future holds.
