Half of the world is upset about Trump's punitive tariffs and Trump's fans are celebrating it for allegedly saving US jobs or even creating new ones with this action ... Sorry, this is the purest comedy show and circus act if you have the considered pure and pure facts:

Key question: Who has Trump EXPRESSLY excluded from these punitive tariffs?

The answer to this exposes all the fraud that is behind it and even the dumbest Trum fan then can not reasonably deny ....
The 1st part of the answer is Canada and Mexico and the big magic key word here is NAFTA ... North American Free Trade Agreement!
We all know that Trump hates trading agreements and has thrown one or two in the trash can, but NAFTA is something which even Trump does not touch ... he does not even dare to do that!

So, if we Europeans, Chinese, Australians etc. sell our steel or our aluminum to our US customers, then should we pay Penalty tariffs?
Once behind the curtain of that ongoing Comedy Show laughed hard about it, then we continue with the reality ... and that is thanks to NAFTA:
We simply sell it to our affiliate or partner in Mexico and / or Canada and he then sells it to our US customer - punitive tariffs on it? Is not given because NAFTA! subject settled = punitive tariffs...

So much for the nonsense Trump once again sells as a success and which many stupidly believe and celebrate him for!

You do not believe what I write? Then do your own research for NAFTA ... and since I work in purchasing in a company that does not export steel and aluminum directly, I know that we will do the same ... perfectly legal!
Oh yes ... and in another thread, a colleague has already said that BMW wants to close its plant in Spartenburgh and Americans will be dismissed because of the punitive tariffs and threats on BMW cars also levy a punitive tariff ... we build the factory then again in Mexico and as it is then NAFTA = no punitive tariffs!

And who still has doubts now or thinks I'll tell fairy tales here ... or with the argument that NAFTA will be terminated ... please ask Mr. Smart at White House when he will close NAFTA! The answer will be funny ...

He won't kill NAFTA. Too many American Jobs at risk. He figured he could bully Mexico and us Canadians into a lopsided deal. He was wrong. There was a report today that the US Negotiators are suddenly willing to compromise on certain aspects of the Vehicle Industry details. Why? Mexico has an Election coming up in July, and the opposition (who is Anti-NAFTA) is leading in the polls. Then you have the Mid-Terms in Nov, and the possibility that the Liberals will get voted out of Ontario in favor of the Conservative Party in the upcoming Provincial Election.

The whole point of the Tariffs was to get a better deal on NAFTA but that failed spectacularly.

Correct ... and becuase then is still the backdoor wide open to make the punitative tariffs rediculous, I must seriously ask why many people still believe the fairy tales of Mr. Trump ... and some of them defend his Action here in Forum as correct like mad?

agreed tariffs were a distraction for the anger of the American underclasses, the economy is negotiated on the backs of uneducated Americans who aren't entitled with socialism as the canadians are.

the dignity of some Americans appears to come at the expense of many.

... and for whom the term social or socialism has been a bad thing since the 1950's, because it's all evil Moscow-controlled communists.

So, once again, sell the biggest BS as a success and everyone is happy to celebrate Trump again for nothing! ;-)

    Practise what you preach.
    Drop your tariffs.

Until then, no one really cares what you say.

    :roflol::roflol::roflol:

You are funny ... drop your tariffs id they did care anyone or cause anything! Guy, wake up and face realities:

    a) Made in USA is not really wanted by customers, for example at cars because fuel consumption is in average much to high as in comparison to European cars
    b) These tariffs here do not hurt anyone, because Trump let a backdoor miles wide open with NAFTA ... and NAFTA will never be touched by him!

Until you live further in a dreamworld, no one really cares what you say!

    Then drop your tariffs.
    You have nothing to lose.

    Practise what you preach.

Why should anyone listen to you if you don't?

Are you basing your willingness to talk to someone on a debate forum on whether their home country will drop tariffs?

Does that seem the least bit ridiculous?

Why are EU tariffs on steel higher than they are in the US ?

It's true Mexico seems to have been excluded from these tariff walls, but I'm thinking at least if the jobs move to Mexico there might be a bit fewer Mexicans trying to migrate to the US.

Because the EU is a famously protectionist trade bloc.
While the US is a famously low tariff country.

The US philosophy on tariffs is traditionally two fold.
No. 1 Empire is expensive. Alliances are bribed onside by low tariff access to US markets. The return on their low tariff is not financial or equivalnet free access to foreign markets.. It is diplomatic. Alliance vs the Soviet Union for example.
And No.2. Tariffs are a tax on your own people. By embracing tariffs you raise the prices on your domestic population and encourage your under performing businesses to continue rather than be replaced by cheaper foreign products freeing up the populace to embrace more fruitful activities.
For example. If you stop producing cheap goods, you can go to college and get jobs making expensive hi tech goods.

no when you stop producing cheap goods 47 percent of the people go to pain pills, prisons, and welfare.

our President will replace manufacturing with energy, by saying he will bring back manufacturing.

Yes, Trump is being radical with US trade traditions.
    Shaking it all up.

He'll be facing a lot of economic dogma. A lot of "economic wisdom" to the contrary.

the US traditionally gave its uneducated energy jobs in fossil fuel to replace manufacturing, it will never become protectionist because the empire will always remain.

what the President does in his language is give the uneducated dignity for being natives of the empire, and an entitlement to its wealth without education as long as they are willing to do hard labor.

Anyone arguing that it’s horrible for Trump to invoke a tariff yet ok for say Europe, China, or Mexico to put tariff’s on American products is beyond TDS. Finally we have someone with the balls to call out the hypocrisy of most of these trade agreements.

That's right. Breaking these industries served by "men with strong backs" broke the heartland, which of course, "progressives" are all for, they hate the American Heartland.

He's even being bring Tech jobs back to CA!

THEY TOLD ME IF TRUMP WERE ELECTED, APPLE WOULD START MANUFACTURING IN THE UNITED STATES. AND THEY WERE RIGHT!

Apple Is Secretly Developing Its Own Screens for the First Time.

Apple Inc. is designing and producing its own device displays for the first time, using a secret manufacturing facility near its California headquarters to make small numbers of the screens for testing purposes, according to people familiar with the situation. The technology giant is making a significant investment in the development of next-generation MicroLED screens, say the people, who requested anonymity to discuss internal planning. MicroLED screens use different light-emitting compounds than the current OLED displays and promise to make future gadgets slimmer, brighter and less power-hungry.”

Of course they're going to squeal like stuck pigs, they have been screwing us for years and smiling about it. Now we finally have a President willing to put an end to the madness. Little wonder who will squeal about it.
