I don't believe the story one bit. But what I do believe is the hypocrisy of the left complaining about tax payer funded women's reproductive health care. I think this is a first.

 

The article literally says it was ran by a private company(IE: Not government policy or endorsed). Now, if you want to abolish privately ran prisons, I'm actually all there with you as surprisingly(and stunningly) prisons is the one area where the free market has failed the most as private prisons are notoriously unaccountable to the people.

First of all, with all the Trump haters out there, it's hard to believe there wasn't one in these hospitals who dropped dimes on him until now, especially doctors who take oaths not to do these things.

Second, who were the presidents during the 60s?

I see your point. However, there are many barriers.

1. It is VERY hard to get anyone to take complaints against doctors seriously. For one, there has to be another doctor who will testify under oath that a doctor has made a mistake. Like cops, they stick together and lie for one another.

2. Medical staff involved in these cases generally are on the same page so there isn't someone (who wants to keep their job) to drop a dime.

3. Probably the most traumatizing, a woman may not know she's been sterilized until much later after the procedure is done.

4. She may not have the financial and legal resources to seek redress.​

I'm not saying it's absolutely impossible but there are some challenges to overcome.

Most medical facilities don't allow audio/video recordings on their premises so there wouldn't be any available. I would also argue that doctors who are sterilizing women without their knowledge or consent would not agree to be filmed even if they facility allowed recording devices.

Old story from the 80s from a nurse but there was a doctor they called "The Butcher" (she wouldn't name him). People came to the hospital with minor problems and died under his care. No nurse in their right mind would testify against him or they would lose their livelihood and the doctor would still keep his license. Its kind of like the VA before Trump changed some of the rules. The only way to get fired from the VA is to become a whistleblower.
