I take offense at this ****. I'm a LEGAL immigrant and US citizen, well educated, speak many more languages than you do, worked my ass off all my life, and never ever received a dime of Government handouts. If anything, I'm twice the American you are, for most of my life I held more than one valid American passport simultaneously. Yes, I think I should have a voice and deserve to be represented. You? I'm not so sure.
Another NYT article... When you people learn that you're being duped. You know what, scratch that, I don't need an answer. I can see the left unraveling from here.
That's part of it, but the main reason why "progressives" are pissed because the only thing they care about is power, and Donnie and the Deplorables took that away from them. For that they have earned the Left's eternal enmity...
As a soon to be former Boy Scout leader (only that way because my sons are aging out), I agree. BSA shouldn't be political. That said, part of the reaction of the boys to Obama was that in his years of office, he didn't attend either BSA Jamboree in person, not even the Jamboree celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of BSA. A lot of Boy Scouts were angered by this refusal.
Are the boy scouts now going to give out medals for the scout that pledges the most allegiance to Russia?
I watched Trump's "performance" last night at the Boy Scout Jamboree. My opinion only but it was vintage Trump - disgusting, boorish, buffoonish and wildly inappropriate. Even Trump (and his handlers) should have known better than to 'present' the crap he did last night. I compared Trump's 38 minutes of bile with Obama's 1 minute & 34 second message to the Scouts in 2010 - as usual, no comparison. Obama's message and delivery was very, very presidential.......Trump's was not. No surprise here......
I'm not a liberal and have no clue what you're going on about, but I'm just saying Trump should have kept this event apolitical as it always has been.
But was Obama there in person asking for this adoration? Context may escape the Trump supporter but you, as a self admitted Russian foreign agent won't ignore context (would you ?) & can't deny that Hitler and Trump were both there in person exploiting these youth. .
I not only see nothing wrong with the president talking politics to boy scouts, it seems the right thing to do. Had it been a Democrat speaking? The Democrat likely would have been lecturing down at the scouts on the evils of gender stereotyping and advocating for transgender rights, urging them not to feel ashamed to admit that really they are girls. Talking to these soon future voters about politics and government? Or liberal social agendas? I say talk politics. He is the president, not a preacher.
This is what CNN passes off as news. They decided on their own, to mock Trump. CNN passes for toilet water. http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/25/politics/donald-trump-boy-scouts-speech/index.html
It's like trying to explain why water is wet. They'll have you explain, in detail, what wet really means, and why it's water that is being used in the example.
I spent time as a boy scout leader in my church. Do you think we had homosexual boy scouts then? Early 1950s. Yes we had a boy scout who was a homosexual. He tried to molest scouts though he was a bit older than we were. Was he turned in for it? No, not by me. We were out on a hike for a merit badge though and when we set up camp for the night, the homosexual wanted some of us to get him water from a nearby creek. At that time, creeks had cleaner water in our area. Some of the troop decided to pee in his water and he drank it all. We had a laugh. It was mean to him but he lost all respect so the boys dealt with him as kids do.
Did you cry this hard when Obama addressed the military since he never served in the military? I'll go ahead and speculate that you didn't.
Yeah, like you actually listened to every president before him. NOT ONE PERSON ON THIS THREAD has, yet so bizarrely rant about "conservative traditions," when the Democratic Party HATES and wants to tear down conservative traditions. There is no reason whatsoever for the President to treat those scouts like kindergarten kids talking down at that. He is the president, Chief Executive, Commander in Chief and the highest ranking politician in the United States. For him to give a placating cutesy little pep talk like he's a preacher in the pulpit or every one of the scout's fathers telling them how to behave would have been inappropriate and demeaning. The proper topic is government and politics, since that is exactly what he represents.
I too went to the full speech to try to understand all the angst by the democrats. I guess the fact that Obama never showed up is a itch the Democrats might like to scratch so they they take it out on Trump. His first year and already he shows up to respect the boy scouts of America.
