Trump's attempting to seize the private property of Texans by eminent domain would be tied up in the courts for years as they asserted their Constitutional rights. Religious and environmental organizations would join in opposing Trump's Big Government intrusion.

Regardless of your falling for the reality tv entertainer's big, beautiful wall that Mexico will pay for scam, most Americans do not want it, and Congress has represented that prevailing public sentiment for two years.

Personally I could care less whether it is a beautiful wall that Mexico will pay for. We need better border control. And a bunch of sensors will not do it.

 

I acknowledge that the US media does not have a monopoly on accurate reportage but, of course, the sentiment of Americans is foremost in the determination of America's policies and taxpayer allocations:

 

Neither sensors, a wall, increased patrols, or any other isolated approach is a panacea. Optimal allocation of funding will demand careful, apolitical, expert analysis - not campaign hype by a reality tv performer.

 

None is a panacea, but sensors without a wall simply will not work. You end up having to chase them down on this side of the border. I am still waiting on someone, anyone, explain how it will be any different.

I am not at all opposed to experts making a recommendations. So far the only experts have been the border patrol themselves and they want a wall.

Most Americans do not want Trump's wall. He needs to accept that reality. He has yet to come down on the $5.7 billion of US taxpayer money he is demanding for his wall that he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for, and that a Republican-controlled Congress would not give him for the past two years.

When he releases his hostages and re-opens government, adult negotiations will be possible.
