1). Abortion: Abortion is murder is shouldn't be legal. God created each one of us in His image. Life begins at conception and ends at NATURAL death. 2). Socialism: Socialism takes away hard earned money and land. What's more, this system is destructive and quite unfair. Property rights are part of that package of God given rights that cannot be taken away. 3). Capitalism: A bit fairer than Socialism but still riddled with problems. This system allows people to keep their property and hard earned money, but at the same time causes greed, envy, and other harmful problems. Corruption can easily occur and workers (especially factory workers) are exploited and paid unfair wages. 4). Corporations (USA): Should not be treated as people because their not people! 5). Role of Government: I have an interesting view on government. Below are the legitimate roles of government: a). Fund a strong military at all times b). Keep police, fire departments et Al funded AND staffed at all times c). Protect the God given rights of the people 6). Branches of Government: The following branches of government are necessary for any nation: a). Legislative Branch (to make laws that protect rights and the nation) b). Judicial Branch (to give fair trials if said laws are broken) 7). Euthenasia: Needlessly takes away one of God's precious children. Life ends when its your time, NOT when you say it does +suicide in general) . Guns: Gun control is unconstitutional! The only acceptable thing is to do preliminary background checks to ensure mentality unstable people don't get guns (or other weapons) 9). America: America is the LAST beacon of true freedom in the world today. If you would like to know my other positions/values, please say so in you response . God bless!
You have a very strange mix of personal liberty (gun rights) and its most heinous transgression (taking away control of people's lives from them through prohibitions on euthanasia, abortion, etc) ; of property rights (capitalism over socialism) and their opposite (taking the rights of individuals away from them when they associate) - and some that violate both (support for a strong military which thieves from the local populace and needlessly intervenes in the democratic processes of those abroad. That said, we are naturally going to disagree. No hard feelings
Support the right to life but not to take one's on life? Interesting set of ideas. How do you balance them all? Is it because God wouldn't want you to or is it something else?
I've learned that the term capitalism means many things to many people. So, before you and I can begin to discuss it, perhaps you can define what you mean by capitalism. Also, how does it cause greed and envy? Haven't those existed since the beginning of humanity?
What happens if you don't believe in God? What happens when you believe individuals should have control of their own bodies? God-given rights? We made them all up, including God. Nothing wrong with that, we just need to be honest with ourselves about it. Also, having policies that might be socialist in nature does not mean we have to be A socialist country. The best government is one that is not rigid along any ideological lines, except maybe balancing our checkbooks. Good observation. There is no one government style that is going to be perfect. We need a concoction of different styles to address different problems. Agreed. The people in the corporation have free speech as individuals and all but a few of those people are actually going to have their speech included in the "free speech" of the corporation-person-entity thing that Citizens United created. I've gone ahead and made up a few new god given rights and since you can't prove that God didn't give them to me, they are now included. Like the right to a doctor and medical treatment even when you can't afford it. Nobody should get to decide when a free person(meaning you're not a prisoner in a jail, no sanctioned suicidey to escape your sentence would be tolerated in my administration!) is allowed to end their own lives as long as they are doing so in a manner that is not endangering other people. I support the 2nd but we do need reasonable gun control. Not at all. We're just the biggest.
