You voted for Biden who is guilty of everything you accused President Trump of and more and you cheer. You are the problem.

    Huh?

Oh well, BIDEN WON. That is all that matters.

Still, it will be great to see Trump's MORONIC Brain Diarrhea booted from Twitter.

I agree. He should just move to Parler. What a fantastic idea.

Don't care... don't follow him.... don't know anybody who does...

Just keep slapping the LIE warning on every post he makes and I'm good with that...

    "Trump is a dictator"

January 20th: "We're going to ban Trump from twitter."

The hilarity just speaks for itself.

Unlikely they would lose billions of dollars or millions of conservatives if they did. Even if the latter happened, the former would not. Twitter's utility as a real-time behavioral platform is still desirable to advertisers/businesses. Even doubling the character count really didn't significantly change the length of tweets. It has never been a great content platform. It has just taken it awhile to compete with facebook for analytics worth the Benjamins.

If Trump gets banned from Twitter, does that mean that his tweets are gone forever? Isn't that data supposed to be archived somehow forever??? For future generations?

Advertisers like sheep. It is why MTV will pay them to promote The Challenges in twitter trends even though the show's ratings have been declining for a decade and the New York Times articles often trend.

For the average user however it just depends on how you use it as to what utility it has for you. It is still interesting and unpredictable in mostly a good way as far as I am concerned which is why it is the only social media platform I use. I have had throw-away tweets get an insane number of interactions from time to time. I will never know for sure why one of my off the cuff silly tweets based on some hashtag trend got almost 100K interactions other than apparently the anti-K-Pop tweeters embraced it in an attempt to shut down a K-Pop hijack of the hashtag. My tweet had to do with peanut butter cups no less and the hashtag had zero to do with music  For me personally, the day to day utility is in getting a wide variety of sources and local information when some breaking news event is going on. I don't use it for politics and have not watched any of the news shows since maybe friday of election week. It is also an easy way to connect to people from different countries that share the same interests as kind of a post-modern ham radio I guess.

I doubt it. He gives twitter way too much publicity. They want to make money, they'd be foolish to ban him. Remember, there are still 70+ million Americans who are fully behind him.

Twitter is likely ahead of the curve here. I suspect social media corporations will be held to the same standards as other media corporations. They’ve (Social media corps) been trying ward off that regulation battle and their argument has become more nonsensical as each year has passed.

That complaining about a person being a dictator, yet using authoritative measures to remove him from their social media platform is absolutely hypocritical. It's what the coronavirus has also taught me. We don't believe in these things, freedom, etc as much as we say we do.

We only believe in it when it's convenient to us.

You don't see a difference between a politician handling government in a dictatorial way and a private company doing whatever the hell they want with a business that they own?

I don't know... Maybe we just have a political disagreement. I would not agree with such extreme degree of socialism as the one you seem to be proposing. I just happen to believe in private property. So long as you don't do anything illegal, I think that owners should be allowed to do with their property whatever the hell they want. I've been told that my position is too far right. But I think it's just the middle.

    I can see that.

That'd be the second best scenario. The best scenario being for Trump to quit Twitter, move to Parler with the majority of his 88 million followers.

4 years till 2024 is more than enough time for the Republicans to build a viable alternative, wean themselves off Twitter and turn it into a DailyKos-like uber-leftist echo chamber.

I can see a huge expansion of Parler the day that Twitter bans him.

Someday you will realize that Trump threatened the sewer since he was the main threat to their gravy trains. Democrats just voted to fill it back up.
