My solution does not include papering over the effects of generational poverty by pretending people are qualified for something when they are not.

As for what the solutions are, that is a subject for another thread. The discussion here has been about the worth of CRT and AA programs. Both do far more harm than good, IMO, so we improve things by shunning both.

Yes, but are you dismissing their difficulties around getting iut of poverty?
Derrick Bell's CRT isn't taught in school.
You should outline something better than affirmative action.

No, I'm not. You're making-up that assertion that I am because you don't know what else to say.

    Derrick Bell's CRT principles are.

No, I shouldn't. That is not what this thread is about . And as I said earlier, I believe AA does more harm than good, so good is done simply by removing it. An alternative is not needed to make things better.

Okay, but what is your solution? You said (see above) what your solution isn't, but you haven't said what it is.
I asked a damn question. You're the one making stuff up.
White kids aren't being told they're irredeemable racists or they should be ashamed of being white.
Your solution is to do nothing--IOW, you don't have one. You just said you do (see above).

What it would be interesting to figure out is why you say you have an answer when you so obviously do not.

Why aren't they being told they should be ashamed of being White? It's true. isn't it?

Doing nothing would at least mitigate the harm AA causes.

I've answered that question at least twice. Please refer to my earlier posts.

I'm quite sure you can find examples of teacher wrongdoing when we have 4+ million teachers. Widespread? No, of course not.

Use your head. Do you actually think students are going to put up with a teacher telling them they're racists, that they should be ashamed if they're white that they are white? Do you think the school, managed by people chosen and hired by the district, isn't going to know a teacher is pushing racist views to students?

Who the hell will want to teach school if some jackass who swallows extreme rightwing propaganda can harass teachers who aren't telling kids they're racists? The answer is contained in DeSantis' own Department of Education figures.

I'm opposed to AA, but I'm also opposed to doing nothing. You seem quite happy to accept racism directed against racial and ethnic groups, women, homosexuals, etc.

As I said, this is NOT about "denying". It's about GRANTING.

Thanks for the example. It suits my case very well.

They are NOT equal. They have had to confront systemic racism. That's what any affirmative action plan has to compensate for.

I'll say it again, because you obviously didn't read the last time: No solution is "perfect". But affirmative action levels the playing field as much as it can be leveled.

Ah. So you want to discuss the semantics. I don't give a crap! I'm saying it's also called "positive discrimination", because it's a type of "discrimination" that is positive. "Discrimination" simply means recognizing the difference between one thing and another. It can be negative when it's racism. And it's positive when it's leveling the playing field.

Sorry, your argument is irrational. You are saying racial discrimination is not racial discrimination when it’s used to fight racial discrimination. That is complete nonsense.

I’ll leave this point here and allow you the last word.

The latest scheme is to hold back the White kids and so level the playing field.

Perhaps you would like to implement woke Plan B. This consists of holding back White and Asian kids so they don't outshine the black kids.

Obviously (?), your objection to AA is just your opposition to doing anything. And here I thought you had principles you were applying.
So, when poverty holds back white kids, you don't care, either?
