Lol you have no clue. Four years is not five years. You chose 4 years - nice own goal by you that you keep running away from

Would you like to go back one year? Shall we see the price then ? Yep, the price today is lower and don't even need to account for inflation

And include inflation in that figure and oil becomes much cheaper now than a year ago.

You are hopeless at economics and you can't even understand the links you post. Hope you don't cry to the mods because I called you hopeless as you are very sensitive

Perhaps you can explain how today's price can be compared if you don't use prices from last year or three years ago or five years ago?

    You lost, just accept it

It wasn't about fighting high prices. It couldn't have had enough impact. It was an anti-petroleum statement. Prices are determined by supply and demand. The strategic reserve doesn't have enough oil to impact supply meaningfully. What government sold off only affected the U.S. and, at best, by a few pennies per gallon for a week or two. Every time government tries to inject itself into the business world the consequences are negative for the economy and the people.

I don't think you're in a position to know what their strategy was.

I don't agree. government can have a positive effect, for example Australia didn't go into recession during the last recession (2008 ,)due to government intervention.

Joe Biden Defiles The Corpse Of The Strategic Petroleum Reserve
    [IMG]
    'Key word, Joe: strategic.'

Bribed Joe 'has made it clear that tapping into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is perpetually under consideration, undoubtedly because oil prices (and the prices of everything, i.e. inflation) have become a headline issue in the upcoming presidential election.'

Hey, if you'll try to jail one opponent, and leave another one vulnerable to assassination, tapping the SPR to rig the election is small fry.
