Parents ignore computer game restrictions, says ATL union.

Basically an educators' union says that too many parents let kids play games that are not appropriate for their age, and let them play too late at night, such that it affects their concentration the following morning.

Is it any of their business? Do they have a valid point anyway? Should PEGI ratings be legally enforced the same way BBFC ratings are?

Wow, you all got Government school unions like the USA, very interesting. At the rate of your public education system is moving in world ranking, you all have the luxury of focusing on issues like playing games. In the USA the proplems are worst, as our public education system is totaly broke.

Nevertheless, it sounds like the buisness community (buisness monopolies) have a direct hand in what the education system preaches. I could be wrong, but follow the money train and ask yourself; who would make the most money out of this.

If parents want to let their kids play games that are not appropriate for them, let them. But those parents have no right to whinge about those games when they turn out to be more violent or sexually explicit than they expected.

Accountability is what's missing in the USA. Parents and educators have no accountability. Seems like the governments allowed parents and educators to do what they see fit, and both are failing greatly. There are ratings for content on all video games, perhaps the parents need to get a grip on real life and keep up with their kids.

There are masses of dumb parents who stoped evolving once they finished high school (or the 8th grade), and they continue to live in that era. then there are the few who evolve intellegently and socially by keeping up with the changes of the world (real world changes, not the BS propaganda news).

There may be a time when the gubment needs to step in to take away some of that parent responsibility when the parents get too stupid.
