You believe what the council says. I don’t. Its behaviour in the past very strongly suggests it is only interested in a politically correct version of ‘protecting children’. You might not want the council’s treatment of the recent case of the foster children being compared with the decade long multiple cases of sexual abuse, yet somehow you still expect me to believe the council’s defence of its handling of the foster children’s case. Would the council have taken the children away from the foster parents if they had been Conservatives, do you think? That they were UKIP supporters should have been immaterial to the council's decision. "First they came for the Communists and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Communist ..." I don't expect you to speak out for UKIP supporters, but I hope someone is willing to speak for you should you need it.

Social workers have taken children away from their parents on the flimsiest of pretexts, with the backing of ‘family’ courts which hold proceedings behind closed doors. The media is not even supposed to report that cases are proceeding, let alone report any of the details. So if the father of the foster children says he did nothing wrong, I don’t know whether to believe him or the social workers. You might think adoption with the approval of the state and without parental consent is the best course of action to ‘protect’ children, but it does give officious authority figures a lot of power over families. It is not surprising that there are reports of the “completely scandalous behaviour” of British authorities appearing in foreign media.

And a politically correct council falls in line with a politically correct court. *shocker*!

I hope the Council have found the children a suitable foster family, but knowing the acute shortage of foster families, I imagine they’re still in an institution which cannot be good for them.

And please don't patronise me. I told you I have read the Guardian link. You can post it as often as you like; it won't change my mind. Have you considered that perhaps you don't think critically enough about decisions taken by those who are supposed to protect our children? Just saying.

You do realise that the majority of votes had already been cast before this story hit the media, they were postal votes. So why this may have had a small impact for the "on the day" voters it wouldn't have been that significant.
Yes they were held by Labour, in traditional strong Labour areas, so no surprise really .. however UKIP did beat the Cons in two of the three elections. Lib Dems are basically a dying party in their last death spasms.
The majority of polls have put UKIP at between 9 & 13% over the last 9 months, which has been consistently higher than the LIb Dems, so really UKIP have got the right to say, at the moment, they are the third party .. come the general election that may very well change.

I always find it funny the way people deride people who support something they don't agree with and with the rise of UKIP support the insults have started to come thick and fast, makes me wonder what you are so afraid of that you feel the need to "have a go" at a party that, in your view, "amounts to nothing whatever" .. BTW that should be "what-so-ever".
