I've made it my mission to keep those on this forum up to date with the hackery goings on at Hostess. Well, it seems that 627 people will no longer be employed thanks to the hacks continued strike

When will hacks ever understand that the only people their thuggish actions injure are their own fellow hacks.

As this country prepares to head deeper into recession, the union hacks should be trying to save jobs and help a company stay afloat. But, hacks will be hacks

Something the thugs and hacks should have asked themselves: will the avg consumer be worse off if Wonder bread and Twinkies go away forever. The answer is of course not because there are plenty of alternatives. Stupid stupid hacks.

Killing jobs is no longer an issue to be feared for obama voters.

    They don't need jobs.

All they need is Obama and the wipe-every-nose welfare state.

    Uh, no.

They will be enjoying the fact that the Wall Street Romney predator pirates aren't going to get to pocket their hard-earned pensions and looking forward to retiring on more than Social Security..

From a strategic point of view, that's a violatile card for both sides. It matters on who the public decides to side with now.

Let the Union fall and those that follow the union can burn in hell or starve for all I care! That Union is about the sorriest thing I have seen.

are you in the correct thread? Ask your folks if there was no Wonder bread on the shelf if another brand would suffice

Also ask them if Hostess cupcakes weren't on the shelves if Little Debbie would be OK?

There are no sides here with "the public"

it's hacks slitting their own throats and are too stupid to realize it

Public sees this, there's an increase in pressure to get this over with. Less production for the company, means losing an edge in the business world. On the other hand for unions, it means a greater likely hood of losing their jobs. Which ever side the public takes, will increase the amount of pressure to end this, on the opposing side. Meaning, if they side with Host, then unions have a greater likelyhood of losing. If they side with unions, Host loses. Got it?

The other option is for the Union to back off.

There are always two opitions. The other one would be for Host to back off, and let the unions have their demands.

What's wrong with workers having some say in their own destiny?

They've decided they would rather risk unemployment than accept the company's offer. What's wrong with that? Isn't that a choice they get to make?

Might they regret that choice? Maybe. Depends on how things turn out. But it doesn't make the choice *evil*.

I worked for that company for a couple of years (engineering dept. and that Union effed us with low pay) and I can tell you that Union is not for the employees. It is all about the Union.

You never heard the union rep say I got min so (*)(*)(*)(*) you guys. It happened.

Shop stewards? Too busy screwing everything to do their jobs...

Not all unions are the same, and it's the bad ones that make the press.

Not a problem but the fact is IBC has been bankrupt and reorganized many times. I did not know they were going bankrupt when I went to work for them because I did not plan on being there as long as I was.

That company is (*)(*)(*)(*) and so is the union. they deserve to go down together!

Just curious, what cuts are the executives of Hostess willing to make to their own salaries and pensions "for the good of the company"?

Union workers do not need jobs.

They just need Obama and the welfare state to take care of them without working.

    I've said this before:

I've been a member of weak unions. I've been a member of strong unions. I've been a member of corrupt unions.

I've worked for companies that didn't have unions and didn't need them. I've worked for companies that didn't have unions and are poster children for why unions are sometimes necessary.

Unions, like any human enterprise, can be flawed. They are as variable as the people who comprise them.

But there is nothing inherently wrong with the concept of unions, or their place in a free market. Unions are *part* of a free market, not a rejection of it.

Most Unions these days have gone too far and have caused and are causing American products to be priced out of the market.

Dude! Nothing tastes good after it's been used for bong water. It's like trying to find a way to make 'shrooms taste pleasant. Just ain't gonna happen.

I say take your Bacardi and Coke as they are, fire up da bong and THEN pig out on da Twinkies. But I guess that's the liberal in me. LOL!

    Moon pies....Mmmmmmmm...
