University announces “White Awake” safe space for white students

Well, here we go....Now white students that have been told that they should be ashamed for being born white, and "privilaged" because of their birth pigmintation now have a place to go at UofMD to learn to "cope with interactions with students, and others of different races"....What world are we living in? This is clear indoctrination, and it is why our University system is failing our children.

 

With the exception of the genius children these are adults. If you don’t go to College at 18, but straight into the workforce, are you still considered a child?

 

Did you have anything to add to the story or was your goal to focus on what he called the kids?

 

We lost this battle when it became illegal to paddle a misbehaving kid in school. Their discipline is sitting detention. Off topic, but our prison system is too soft, too. You get tv, video phones, and now Android and iPad tablets in jail now.

For kids, if you misbehave, you MIGHT have to sit in a room during recess. For convicts, you have more luxury in jail than at home. Where's the incentive for doing good when bad behavior goes without punishment?

 

Oh, where to begin with the notion of 'safe spaces'? Life doesn't have 'safe spaces', so providing them in elementary school, high school and (jeezuz) university is only stunting the development of young people. They are not learning to critically think for themselves about issues that may be uncomfortable and they will not be equipped to face adversity. SIGH!

 

My first reaction to reading this was..... DON'T do it... It's a trap.... Stay away, liberals just want to make a list...

 

It’s quite clear. Accusing college of indoctrination is silly and uninformed.

 

In today's day and age, I often wonder with adult children remaining in the home until, in some cases they have to be evicted....But, overall, as a parent of grown children...They are always your children.

 

To not see what is going on right under our noses is the definition of uninformed.

 

Too many kids are raised to be pansies. They need to toughen up in order to make it in the real world today. Everyone should not get a trophy.

 

How are safe spaces for ethnic groups not a step toward Balkanization?

 

There should be racial segregation back in schools again -- it is very unfair to subject white kids to the hate and in sometimes, physical attacks they endure from going to school with non-whites, and by non-whites, I mean blacks and Hispanics...mainly blacks....Asians are cool
