Awww, these poor little ***** snowflakes are afraid someone may retaliate after they assault someone or destroy property? How brave of them
“Fascists” are not a specific group. That’s why it has taken many different forms throughout history in very different areas. But here’s what you actually said: <Rule 3>
Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, while in disguise, including while wearing a mask, injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both.
So let me get this straight. The big "lie" is that before I said: "Anti-fascists are a loose coalition of people who are against fascism." And in this thread I said "I don't claim to know what the "anti-fascists" goals are, but if their goal is to stand up to fascists and neo-nazis and KKK types you bet I'm 100% on board for that." Wow. What a giant inconsistency. Last time I said they were against fascism and this time I said if their goal is to stand up to fascism I'm on board with that. Gotta be the biggest whopper of all time. What great work on your part. You sure showed me. LOL
Hilarious! You are just regurgitating what was already posted and it in no way invalidates my post. Thanks for nothing.
Another falsehood by Brewskier. Nowhere in his post did he quote me saying I "knew very little about the anti fascist movement" as Terrapinstation falsely claimed.
I am amused at how quickly far right-zealots become the victim when faced with an ideology that can, literally, beat the crap out of them. The bullies don't like a dose of their own medicine it seems. Funny how that's as true on the schoolyard playground as it is on and internet forum.
Your party is in power. Conservatives have been emboldened and they also have less to protest. Theres no reason for you to even be out protesting let alone wearing masks. But we will see how long that lasts if democrats take back the white house and legislative branch in the next 4 to 6 years. Well if this law passes it will be there to be used as a hammer against you, so thanks for supporting increased restrictions on protesting. Because thats what this is. The part of the language about assault is meaningless because assault is already illegal. This is about restricting the ways in which people are permitted to protest, about creating more reasons to be able to break up a protest as if there werent enough restrictions already. I bet, in practice, under this law all the excuse the police would need to end a protest would be for one person in the crowd to put on a mask and for someone not part of the protest to claim they felt "intimidated". Then a crime is being committed and the protest must be broken up. Its a poison pill that makes protesting, already impossible to do effectively within the bounds of the law, that much more difficult. And by the way pretty sure the KKK consider themselves conservatives and also wear masks so lets no get all super chuffed at conservative bravery.
Many times it's harmless, like at Mardi Gras, Hallowe'en, or just a private costume party.. But if anyone is creating a public disturbance while wearing a mask then the law should apply. Of course there are some cowards who might disagree. https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/...e-freaking-out-about-a-proposed-unmasking-law
So your for the KKK wearing masks too? Color me shocked. My opinion is the KKK is trash and they shouldn’t wear masks just like these Antifa wimps. I don’t like any group than can’t protest peacefully or that use race as a justification to be violent. I don’t know any conservative that’s ever burned a car or broken a window to show how tough they were while protesting. If you are trying to say there were violent conservatives protesting Obama let me know, I haven’t seen it and don’t remember it and to be frank it didn’t happen. These are Thugs and punks and go read some KKK history they’ve been democrats for ever!!
Yeah you’re a scary guy Eric Antifa 1 on 1 doesn’t usually work too well. They need 20 on 1 situations to be effective
You shouldn't rely on RW propaganda for "history." It is true that following the civil war, the South was soldily Democratic as opposed to the Republican North, and that the KKK with its roots in the South was more associated with Democrats. But that changed in the late 60s when the GOP employed the "southern strategy" to win conservative southerners to the GOP, some say with racist overtones. To claim that the KKK is Democratic today is just a farce. David Duke creamed his jeans when donald won the election.
I'm fine with private parties with the owner's permission. Sure, Mardi Gras and Halloween are fun, but I see this issue as the far, far greater danger. I stated I would prefer it be state laws, and states could create exemptions such as LA for Mardi Gras.
Another falsehood by Terrapinstation. I never stated that I have "limited knowledge of antifa" as he claimed. That is a fabrication. I'd ask him to prove his claim by quoting my post, but it looks like he already cut-n-ran have I challenged him on his other falsehood in post #216.
Communist Party USA celebrates Obama win Praises blacks, Hispanics, women for working together to defeat 'white people' Donald Trump has as much control over what gives David Duke an erection as Obama had control over what sexually delighted Sam Webb.
What I find amusing is what qualifies as "terrorism" in your eyes, and, more importantly, what doesn't, depending on who is committing it.
Nixon's southern strategy.....yeah, pretty racist. Richard Nixon is credited for having a strong record on foreign policy, but his record on domestic policy — especially on Civil Rights at home is often overlooked. During his years as vice president under Dwight Eisenhower, he sought to ensure minorities — especially African Americans — weren’t discriminated against in federal contracts. He also worked with Congress to spearhead the Civil Rights Act of 1957, sweeping legislation and a precursor to the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965. When he reached the presidency, Nixon sought to expand economic opportunities for African Americans by ending discrimination in the work place, through the endowment of black colleges with federal funds, and helping them find meaningful employment through job assistance programs, and promotion of entrepreneurship — an initiative called “Black Capitalism.” In 1970, perhaps the hall mark of the Nixon administration’s Civil Rights policies, Nixon sought to end the decades old and egregious tradition of segregated schools for black and white children throughout the nation, predominantly in the Southern states. https://www.nixonfoundation.org/2017/08/nixons-record-civil-rights-2/
Reminds me of how many it takes to terrorize women seeking reproductive healthcare. How many bullies do you need to scream at terrified women? 20 on 1 sounds about right. This tactic is nothing new. It was perfected by right-wing nutcases.
