Lets hear from the Buckeye haters. Urban Meyer got another big raise. Only Saban now with a higher annual salary. Probably because he has 4 national titles to Urban's 3. That'll change again when OSU wins him #4 this coming season.
Why don't they pay the players a salary as well? The expected devotion to their sport during their scholarship puts academics in the back seat. Most D-! athletes won't go pro, yet make the school makes millions in revenue from TV/memorabilia. It's essentially plantation politics for the alumni.
I believe Meyer has earned it. He's as good as it gets in college football. On a side note, this year the Buckeyes are going to be scary. There are playmakers all over this team. On paper, it looks like a more polished version of last years squad. My Buckeyes recently won a national title in wrestling as well. Good year to be a Buckeye sports fan.
Yes sir, it is! Took my youngest there last Saturday for a college visit. Spring had sprung, the campus was hopping....it was all good. I've been saying the Buckeyes were going to be scary this coming year, before this past season went down the way it did resulting in a national title. They're loaded.
Meyer has said the starting QB won't be decided until mid-way through training camp because it won't be until August that all 3 are healthy. I don't believe Barrett has the green light yet, coming off the broken ankle, and Braxton's shoulder still isn't completely healed either. Gotta wonder if it's Cardale Jones' job to lose after plowing through 3 playoff games.....Wisconsin, Alabama, and Oregon.
So watcha saying about Cardale, milo? That he's another Jamarcus Russell that the NFL is already drooling over because of his size and arm strength?
I didn't say that...but the thought has occurred to me. I will say this much, I doubt he will ever be an effective starting QB in the NFL.
I'm not ready to go that far although it could go down the way you say. Interesting thing is, the NFL experts are saying that if Cardale had come out in this year's draft, he would definitely have been a top 10 overall pick. Most teams in need of a QB supposedly would have preferred him over Mariotta, even with such a small sample size.
I don't know about the 4th national title, but Urban Meyer has certainly earned his salary. I think he has proved his worth.
