What's OK is that SCOTUS currently acts to keep the Legislative Branch from running amok. With a packed court we will have total one party control and function as the Soviet Union functioned. In other words we will no longer be a democracy. When will it happen? Remains to be seen. Didn't Biden tell us we did not deserve to know his stance on packing the court?
And for an even more accurate preview, you can look at cities like Los Angeles. CCWs are not issued to ordinary citizens, so only cops, judges, and criminals carry guns here.
I hope that you are right but I think that @joesnagg raises some very valid points with his insightful Post #50. I don't consider myself either a Democrat or Republican but since I've seen the anti-gun agenda of Virginia's Democrat infected government, I find myself supporting Republican candidates more frequently than Democratic ones. Some of the gun laws proposed and passed by the Democratic Party would have been unheard of in Virginia as recently as 20 years ago.
The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety act gives retired LEOs the right to carry concealed handguns nationwide with few exceptions regardless of State and Local gun laws. Repeal this law and see how many cops support gun control. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. For example, I believe Howard Stern and Donald Trump had concealed carry permits in NYC. Liberals claim to be for the little people (so to speak) but obviously they are not.
Yes, and each and every time via after lengthy legal arguments at every level the US Supreme Court inevitably shoots the legislation down in flames, albeit it takes a while to reach them. Nothing will change until the Second Amendment and its interpretation by the Supreme Court does. At the end of the day State and local law reform goes no-where.
