From you, I expected for more than mere deflection. I'm not defending Republicans (I quit the party nearly seven years ago), but the issue today, and thread topic, is the Biden decision that we must blow hundreds of millions on this 'pier' thing, and many millions more will follow in "aid" and all the ancillary costs associated with this needless, wasteful stupidity. Did you not read the earlier information in Post $14 that shows these "Gazzinans" gave rise to Hamas, sheltered it, and support it even now?!

How do Democrats defend aiding vicious terrorists and their sympathizers/sponsors except that it may make them "feel good about themselves"...? :teddy:

Oh I see, you think past tense and present tense are the same thing.

    They aren’t.

I support the money we gave to Israel and Ukraine and humanitarian aid to the Gazzians

I would not support us getting boots on the ground and joining in on these wars like we did in Afghanistan and Iraq

$320 million will be looked on as a bargain if it works and Biden actually gets enough votes from Muslim voters in Michigan to win the State. That's a better ROI than paying off Student Loans.

Hamas was lobbing mortar shells at the pier used to receive humanitarian aid.

I stopped asking "does this make sense" after we paid Israel and Egypt to stop fighting each other, i.e., the Camp David Accords. From this historic moment forward the US taxpayer has given the armed forces of Egypt 38 Billion dollars. I don't know how much the accords provided Israel, but over time the US has given them between 260 and 300 Billion.

Both parties spend money like drunken sailors. Certainly Biden is not unique in buying votes.

Muslim terrorists hate the US as much as they hate Israel. Silly to think somehow feeding Palestinians is going to change that. They are just tools used as human shields. A temporary cease fire to provide aid will only prolong the suffering of Palestinians.

Humanitarian aid can be provided to Palestinians after Hamas is completely obliterated just like we did during WW2 in Germany with the Nazis. A temporary cease fire to provide aid will only prolong the suffering.

They do. Only by the grace of God have we not been directly hit since 911 but our military in the ME is under constant attack.

Yep, domestic terrorism has far surpassed the foreign type in US in recent years.

If israel was an 'ally', this shipping pier/dock wouldn't be necessary. Sooner or later maybe the brainwashing will wear off.

We've taken a very serious part in the war against Gaza that has been constant for decades.

We can not pretend to have no responsibility for the on-going humanitarian atrocities in both West Bank and Gaza during that whole time.

The military arm of Hamas is the only group defending Gaza in the US-Israeli war on Gaza. And, so far the IDF has not achieved even one of their stated military goals there.

I'd point out that the USA proved to Palestine that Palestine's attempts at a negotiated settlement were a pointless waste of time and life.

You know, that's the thing I don't understand. Why is the US sending this "military aid"? I thought Israel is a member of the nuclear club.

I don't think "logic" is a practical description for your notion that there is no famine in Gaza because the war has been going on for 7 months.....

All I’m asking for is for you to prove it. 7 months in and you got no one dead From starvation.

makes for a really shitty argument when you can’t back it up.

Food aid has decreased over time as Israel slowed deliveries at the Rafah crossing and stopped delivery from the north.

Plus, every effort is being made to keep people from actually dying.

You can read reports from sites like the ICJ and Human Rights Watch:

    https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/04/09...nistry reported as,and disease of 27 children.

Well for starters, 7 months is the duration of the war, not the famine. Furthermore, famines can last for several years, as we have seen many times before throughout history.

The CSIS declared approximately 1.1 million people in Gaza to be living in a level 5 famine as of March 2024, and this is expected to worsen if aid is unable to be sufficiently brought into the area. As for how many people have already died of starvation, we again cannot establish a proper estimate until aid workers are able to safely access the area. In early March, World Health Origination officials reported that children in Gaza were malnourished and at risk of dying of starvation. Since then we have not been able to establish any statistics from any international organizations, the only numbers we have on reported deaths of starvation are coming from sources within Gaza.

I’m sure if you grew up in Palestine you’d be leading the revolt against Hamas, right? Get real. We’re all a product of our environment. Your attempt to blame Palestinians for the fact that they are dying of starvation is frankly insane. We’d all be just as guilty as they are. We were just lucky enough to grow up somewhere else.

To know what's happening, you have to read various sources - JPost, Harretz, ICJ, ICC, Human Rights Watch, or other such organizations, etc.

Do you know if the new US port is going to be effective in delivering aid?

Do you know what Netanyahu has been saying?

Nobody is going to spoon feed "proof". If you want to discuss the issue, you have to do the work.

No it doesn't make any sense. You could simply be demanding that Israel allow the aid trucks into Gaza, using its already existing roads, and make further aid to Israel dependant on them complying.
