He very clearly is, but outside interests kept the war going much longer than it otherwise would, and that's resulted in a lot of innocent people getting hurt.
That Makes ALL the outside powers guilty of a lot.

Outside powers were not governing Syria.. Have you read up on Bashar's younger brother who is in charge of the military, police and prisons?

Agreed ... and the BS starts under Obama when the Arab Spring movement in Syria became the civil war. Why? Because there are always 2 options for a global power to react... to stay out and declare it as internal issue of Assad or to go in full power in and end it with full military power.
Obama did the first in many other countries of ME when the Arab Spring was depressed like in Qatar, because the regime there is an important ally ... but had not the balls to the other option, because he feared to have Iraq 2.0 in Syria, but this time caused by him and not by Bush!
Also ... Assad and his father before were the local dictator of the USSR and later Russia all the decades since Syria exists as independent state and so it was a Russian issue to sort this out with their puppet regime!

What Arab Spring in Qatar? Russia didn't take in any Syrian refugees. Syria had a serious overpopulation problem. This is a genocide.

Bull, all this started with the invasion of Iraq that has spilled over to the entire region. And many on the right were screaming for Obama to get involved, then like the typical hypocrites they are, they turn around and said "you shouldn't have done anything!"

For once I would love to see the right be honest and intelligent, just once

Answer the question: "Who the heck are you to decide on behalf of the "rest of the world"?

Russia defends Syria and Assad. Let them absorb the refugees and fix the problem.

Sorry ... my mistake, I mean Bahrain not Qatar!

And after the millions of refugees left, no overpopulation anymore. But new for my that there was any overpopulation problem in Syria...

And you know the answer of the Pro-Russians / Pro-Assads here?

The West with the USA, Saudi Arabia and the NATO, Turkey and whoever else caused this all and it is all their guilt and of course all have supported the ISIS too etc. ...

The whole of Bahrain's financial sector would have up an moved to the Emirates.. and the Bahraini Jews would have fled as well.

Its nothing new. Iran has tried to take over Bahrain since the 1950s.

ISIS is the sworn enemy of Saudis Arabia.

Assad didn't care what the US or anyone else had to say, he started killing people just as his father had done.

Then get the hell out of here and we'll get things figured out with our partners. We don't need no Americans in the region because we don't like strangers here :)

That's probably one of the dumbest lies on this board all week. ISIS is Iraqi. Most were Baathists in Saddam's military.

The whole lot in Syria are very clearly unpleasant, but quite how that justifies supporting worse people is a little hard to understand.
The rebel groups are a mixed bunch, many consisting of very extreme Muslims but the US still arms and trains them.
That doesn't say anything positive for Russia doing the same for their idiot mates.

But Assad is not anyone's other problem as those of the Russians and the Iranians! it is their puppet dictator, not the US puppet!

If the USA really starts to be worried about such things, their military has to be active on half planet and here in many countries with US friendly regimes!

True ... Syria is a pool of the worst despots and terrorist scum. Everyone has his own scum, which he supports. But do not forget to mention Turkey in the matter!

    No. Stop.

It started with withdrawing all of the troops from unstable countries who were getting back on the right foot. The last dick left a giant vacuum where extremist could take hold, and they did.

How about you being honest and intelligent? Hmm? The invasion of Iraq didn't create ISIS. Captain Dipshit left all the tanks, trucks, and weapons that he could so anyone could grab them in the middle of the desert. Guess who did? The locals. Guess what they did with them? Derp.

Well, Bahrain is 70% Muslim with a Shia majority within that demographic. Nearly 14% of Bahrain is Christian, 9% Hindu, with a smattering of Buddhists. There are 40 Jews and they do have a synagogue and cemetery. The Jews are prosperous merchants and one female is an ambassador.

Sunnis control the financial sector and Shia are largely merchants.

There is also a good sized expat community of Americans and Europeans.

If Iran takes over Bahrain everybody but the Shia would leave.
