The United States declares a precedence whereby it is not responsible for its abuse and maltreatment of the world. PROBABLY it absolves itself from treatment of its own citizens. AND the USA simultaneously dictates the government structure of small countries.

The most evil and wretched system imposed on its own people, and a scourge on mankind. A demonic hypocrisy.

Judge Dismisses Suit by Guatemalans Intentionally Exposed to STDs by U.S. Researchers

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed on behalf of a group of Guatemalans who were unknowingly exposed to syphilis, gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted diseases by U.S. researchers in the 1940s. Under the experiments, U.S. medical officials intentionally infected more than 2,000 Guatemalan sex workers, prisoners, soldiers and mental patients to study the effects of penicillin. On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said federal laws bar suits for harm caused abroad. The Obama administration had argued for the case’s dismissal, saying sovereign immunity protects federal health officials from litigation stemming from the experiments.

    The Guatemalan officials allowed it.

Seriously it was the 1940s. How else are you going to test the penicillin? Those 2,000 people saved millions.

Not to mention who are we going to give the money too? These people are already dead. Just consider our foreign aid, as reparations.

Even US citizens (especially orphans and prisoners) were subjected to the same and worse. Who knows what will come out about the goings on today decades from now. Not sure how you can prevent these type of things, but some sort of shaming or outrage needs to take place at the very least. Most people are not even aware of their governments performing tests on uninformed citizens or foreign populations. The US is not alone in this depravity.

I agree reparations to the dead are idiotic, but any survivors should be able to hold our government liable for allowing such studies to take place.

Interestingly enough, one can search almost any state/county's health department records (where illegal immigration by Hispanics is high), and and will almost certainly see a marked increase in cases of gonorrhea and more alarming, syphilis. Not to mention pertussis (whooping cough), tuberculosis etc.

    What's next, smallpox?

    Screw reparations... wait!

    Cool attitude!

We will just put down you and your family as willing volunteers to be infected with AIDS to check new Aids drugs.

Your children's lives will save MILLIONS!

Most of the people tested on were criminals.

All can be cured relatively easy with Penicillin.

Reparations should still be due, but... the bolded part is also true.

It's bad enough that we did this to the Guatemalans, but the fact that their own government allowed it should be more concerning to the Guatemalan people themselves.

They were prisoners in a Guatemalan prison, and infected with STDs that were later proven to be cured by Penicillin. I'm sure the STDs were the last of their worries.

They proved on a massive scale what Penicillin can do.

How much did the scientists know at the time they tested on 2,000 Guatemalans?

Supposing they knew Penicillin would fight the observed diseases, it follows they were working to establish dosing.

However... Supposing they had no idea which diseases could be fought it is possible they committed a grave evil against humanity.

My friend... You have a faithful belief in the goodness of your fellow man, however....... I know that fellow man is not always good, and so I am looking only for the truth.

Some of them were prisoners. Soldiers, prostitutes and the mentally ill were also experimented on.

Cutler was also involved in the Tuskegee syphilis experiment which involved 'poor, rural black men'.

Makes you wonder what they injected into the Americans when they said it was the bird flu vaccine
