It doesn't matter. This country is running on fumes. It's too late. No wall will ever be built and if any administration tried to the U.N would claim it to be a human rights violation. What bogles my mind is how ANYONE currently here would want to import more third worlders after we can already see how much of catastrophe it has been.

Question for leftists... If poverty creates crime and social problems why would you import millions of people who will live in poverty??? Uuuuuhhhhhhhh....

Thank you admitting I was right. Your claim that calls for the operation of the mind is incorrect. (Like all claims that require mind reading abilities)

Assuming you are correct, that's awesome data. Rewording your statement:

Over half of the illegals entering the US, yearly, have illegally crossed the border.

You can do all of that and use a wall. Fact is walls work, they always have.

But but but surely you don’t want him to get away with it and charging him with a crime under the emoluments act would stop him

But if a child was watching cartoons and suddenly a News Break showed a film of the caravan walking around the end of the unfinished wall well.....that child would most likely figure it out and think your comment was both dumb and silly!

I was thinking about cost also, since it's quite apparent that Mexico will not be paying for it.
Not saying walls don't work to some degree, but factoring in cost and effectiveness, I'd choose the technology method. Easier to maintain also. More effective.
Or maybe a moat filled with crocodiles, sharks and snakes!

Mexico paying for it was never a claim they would cut a check, but there are multiple ways in which they can and have been. And the wall would pay for itself anyways.

The rest crossed legally and never left.

    Fail.
If you actually bothered to read the post I was responding to, you would have learned the choice was between President Biden and dirty donny bonespurs.
And Biden has voted in favor of border walls and fences.

Nah, those are the ones that overstayed their visa, which we have established to be less than half.

Actually, your assertion that there are more illegals from swimming the Rio Grande vs visa overstays just ain't so...

And yet another GQP zombie talking point ESaD's...

    Great data.
    A) Not my assertion. I just went with what Patricio Da Silva said.
    B) It doesn't surprise me that visa overstays was more in 2017 per your link. Trump was doing a pretty good job keeping the border crossing numbers down.
    C) Your DMN link requires a subscription. It looked like it was from April this year so the data is most likely from at least 2020. Again, not surprising. We'll see this year with the flood of over 1.7 million illegals.
    Again, great data, thanks

Not at all a fail, your inability to see how accurate I was is your own shortcoming.

I never believed in brainwashing until now.
His response was the deflection. He can’t type a line without including President Trump.

    Your post was a lie.
I don’t recall anyone on this board saying fences and walls don’t work.

I would challenge you to prove your statement, but I know from experience that whenever you are asked to back up something you say, you run away waving a white flag and crying “I’m right! It’s your fault if you won’t prove it yourself!”

I'm curious how you think sensors and no fence would stop people when they are literally crossing the border, turning themselves in, then getting released on their own recognizance somewhere in the US. I guess the sensors would allow them to turn themselves in faster but not much else.

Personally, I'm in favor of wall + technology then immediate deportation, and one way boat ticket, to the Guatemalan border.

My post was accurate, just because you dont recall it with selective memory doesn't mean it didnt happen.

And no, I will not ever waste my time proving anything to the intellectually dishonest.

There are many ways to handle it. First off, the system I'm describing will catch everyone crossing the border. The sensors could even be installed away from the border, so they would be detected even before they crossed the border. Then, when they catch them, I do believe in a strong return policy. We're already doing some of that. I would have to research the laws, but it does seem they could increase that. Obviously there would be some use of walls, A technology system would also be more easily adjusted as needed, whereas a long wall is pretty permanent and harder to modify. If it's good enough for our top military bases, I think it's good enough for the border.
Walls are expensive and are too easily defeated. Then policy can be adjusted accordingly.
All this being said, I think the rhetoric of how bad illegal aliens are is blown way out of proportion. A good portion of my students are from immigrant families. Guess who my best students tend to be? Some of them work full time jobs at night while they attend high school. They don't have the entitled attitude that is pervasive in the American born kids. Immigrants, IMO, have a lot to contribute to America, and are willing to work. If all immigration were somehow magically stopped completely, we as a nation would be worse off for it. Yes, some bad ones get in sometimes, but it is a very low percentage.
Honestly, a lot of Americans don't want to work. I think Obama had a wise approach to immigration, but I'm sure one of you will point out why I'm wrong about that.
