Abortion related violence that is not often talked about. The woman who is pressured and sometimes often killed..who won't abort.

    http://www.prolifeamerica.com/Under-the-Radar-Violence-in-the-Conflict-Over-Abortion.pdf

"It is not possible to determine with any certainty how widespread this problem is. Within the law enforcement community, it is known that the shame and stigma experienced by sexual assault victims results in only a small percentage of all sex-based crimes ever being reported. In the kind of instances being discussed here, that problem is compounded by the stigma associated with abortion."

"In both situations, if the victims report the crimes committed against them, information about their own behavior will be revealed that they do not want known. Under those circumstances, it easy to understand why they are rarely going to say anything. When that reality is considered in light of the number of instances that are reported, it is apparent that a startling number of women are being sexually assaulted inside American abortion clinics."

"Despite almost 40 years of legality, this stigma remains as strong as ever and it prevents the vast majority of women from wanting others to know about their abortions – even if those abortions were forced upon them. Clearly, this is going to significantly reduce the number of cases in any study about abortion-related violence. Another factor that makes these cases difficult to uncover is the deceptive manner in which the media reports on them."

Samples of actual cases in Crutchers report. These are real women…names have not been changed.

    Adams, Cherica | 24 | 1999 | NC | Abortion Motive Confirmed
Ms. Adams was pregnant with the child of former National Football League player, Rae Carruth, when she was shot to death by Van Brett Watkins and Michael Kennedy. At trial, it was revealed that Carruth had paid them $6,000 to kill Ms. Adams because she had refused his demand to have an abortion. Watkins and Kennedy eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. In 2001, Carruth was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to 18-to-24 years in prison. Ambrosino, Susan | 26 | 2005 | NY | Abortion Motive Confirmed
Steven Schiovone was the father of Ms. Ambrosino’s unborn child and was demanding that she have an abortion. Because she refused, he killed her by shooting her in the back of the head. In 2007, Schiovone admitted to the crime and was allowed to plead guilty to manslaughter rather than face a murder charge. [The New York Daily News 2-28-2005 • Newsday 4-17-2007]

    Bakley, Bonny Lee | 44 | 2001 | CA | Abortion Motive Confirmed
Ms. Bakley was pregnant by actor, Robert Blake, when she was shot to death while sitting in his car. In court, witnesses testified that Blake had planned to abduct Ms. Bakley and hire a doctor to abort the baby and, if that didn't work out, he said that he intended to “whack” her. Blake also admitted that he had offered Bakley $250,000 to have an abortion but she refused. In 2005, a jury found that there was not enough evidence to convict Blake of the criminal charges but, in a subsequent civil trial, the jury found him responsible for Ms. Bakley’s murder and ordered him to pay $30 million in damages. A fine example of the results of pro-life thinking, that a woman has no right to control her own body.

Some might argue that this is what happens when fathers are not allowed to opt out of child support payments when the woman refuses to get an abortion.
The choice about whether the man has to pay child support is up to the woman— the only one who gets any say over whether to abort the baby under current law. If the father is expected to shoulder the responsibility of taking care of the baby should the woman choose to keep it, I think the father should also have some say over whether the woman is allowed to abort his child.

Mamooth…how does your statement relate to this piece? You think the names of the women are all lies….that the truth behind their deaths had nothing to do with the threats of abortion?

Please explain how criminalizing abortion would improve this situation. Not only would women who refuse abortion continue to be killed, but more would then be killed because abortion would be unavailable to them.

Abortion is legal…so it is an option that any woman can consider and men know that. So in the cases that Crutcher presented..women were pressured…because it was a legal option. They did not abort and look what happened to them. This is very much abortion related.

A man who would murder a woman because she WON'T have an abortion would also murder her if she CAN'T have one. Women would have a better chance of surviving domestic abuse if abortion is available to them.

Do you really believe these women would be alive if abortion were illegal?

Most the women left notes and told people what the circumstances were. Did you not read the different cases?
Do you know for sure that if abortion had been illegal that most these women would be alive?

The women weren't murdered because of their position on abortion. They were murdered because their husbands/boyfriends didn't want a child with them. If abortion is available, women at least have a chance of saving themselves.

these women did not want abortions…but their significant others wanted them. Had abortion been illegal…that option would not have been there.

Did you even read crutchers article…? I highly doubt you did.

So, had abortion been illegal...these MURDERERS would simply have embraced their inevitable fatherhood and all would live happily ever after...

Again, you run away and distract from the point...churchmouse. LOL I know all about Mark Crutcher, the former car salesman who decided to make more money by writing pro-life propaganda. I know the point of this particular piece of garbage is to try to associate abortion with violence.

It backfires for you, though; what it actually shows is that pregnancy is dangerous for women in a way that is "not often talked about."

I thought that was obvious. I was pointing out that men who think they can force women to abort are thinking in the same fashion as men who think they can force women to give birth. The pro-life mindset encourages the belief that women are property, to be controlled as men see fit.

Um, where did that craziness come from?

Of course I don't think something that crazy. Men beating women to end a pregnancy was going on long before Roe v. Wade.

Incorrect statement, showing your ongoing misunderstanding of the issues of conflicting rights involved. Your misrepresentation of our position does not make us hypocrites. It just makes you look bad.

    Cady SAID,

No I don't'…try just once answering a question…addressing a point. Do you have something against the car industry? My dad had a car dealership…do you think he is creepy, not ethical? I am sick of your comments like this? Who do you think you are? What does Mark being a car dealer have anything to do with the work he does today? What do you do for a job…besides sit her all day posting? What is your occupation? I got news for ya skippy…..abortion is violent. Your on the other thread whining and crying over the picture of the abortion aren't you? LMAO

No it doesn't make you look in a bad bad light. Shows how hypocritical your position really is.

So the article…..you think it was full of lies, propaganda? I don't have to misrepresent anything. People can read for themselves….they can read what you post. It makes you look bad…YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS PRO-ABORTION, NOT ME. And we both know how immoral that is don't we?

Exactly my point, how does being a used car salesman qualify Crutcher as an abortion "expert"? Obviously purveying propaganda is more lucrative, and anyone can do that.

ALLEGED abortion. My one comment was to inform that the photo misrepresented as a 12 week fetus was actually a 22 week fetus.

    What?

You have it backwards. It shows that pregnancy is dangerous for women. How can you deny that?

Making abortion illegal doesn't make abortion unavailable. I find it unlikely that men willing to go to the extremes of murder would be deterred from pressuring a woman in to an illegal abortion any more than they would a legal one.

The problem here isn't the existence of legal abortion, it's the existence of violent selfish thugs.

Making homoicide illegal does not make homoicide unavailable, if someone wants to kill someone they will. This is the same rational pro-abortionists use when they say making abortion illegal will make no difference. Making murder illegal can deter and makes it harder for someone to commit murder, the same reasoning applies to abortion making abortion illegal will deter and make it harder for someone to commit this act.
