Northam constantly makes amends for the KKK outfit wearing picture and having his friends call him "Coonman" in College.

More than enough information is available. This is what comes from the spokesman for Virginia Skruls Department:

"Offering an inclusive learning environment that engages and challenges students of varied levels of understanding and different interests will be a focus of the common mathematics pathways proposed in grades K-10 ... These pathways seek to restructure mathematics education by focusing instruction on reasoning, real world problem solving, communication and connections while shifting away from an emphasis on computation and routine problem practice."

    A worthy goal.

You'd be the first against private schools where all the "gifted" aka normal kids gather and learn using their G*d-given ability and competent teachers. You and the rest of the Democrats be up in arms against select, privileged kids leaving their not-so-bright, not-ambitious counterparts in the dust of public skruls.

    From the OP:

"The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is moving to eliminate all accelerated math options prior to 11th grade, effectively keeping higher-achieving students from advancing as they usually would in the school system"

    And

As currently planned, this initiative will eliminate ALL math acceleration prior to 11th grade," he said. "That is not an exaggeration, nor does there appear to be any discretion in how local districts implement this. All 6th graders will take Foundational Concepts 6. All 7th graders will take Foundational Concepts 7. All 10th graders will take Essential Concepts 10. Only in 11th and 12th grade is there any opportunity for choice in higher math courses."

My assessment, as well as the asessment of the stakeholders (parents of normal schoolchildren), that the children of Virginia skruls will be held down as not to advance their math knowledge faster than the slowest of the crowd, stand.

Normal, able, and eager to learn kids will need to be math-schooled or tutored elsewhere.

A brilliant example of dumbing down of America; thank you, my friend :applause:

    Definition of dumb down

    transitive verb

: to lower the level of difficulty and the intellectual content of (something, such as a textbook) also : to lower the general level of intelligence in the dumbing down of society

    From OP:

...Committee member Ian Shenk, who focused on grades 8-10, said: "Let me be totally clear, we are talking about taking Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 – those three courses that we've known and loved ... and removing them from our high school mathematics program, replacing them with essential concepts for grade eight, nine, and 10."...

Too intense still for the lower 50% of Virginia skruls.

The OP is built around the opinions of Virginia teachers and stakeholders. Are you sure they do not know the facts?

Not really, not diversification. No Algebra or Geometry will be offered in skruls before grade 11.

    That's progress.

You need to read more, my friend! :roflol:

California promotes 'dismantling racism in mathematics' guidance in draft for statewide framework
'The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false,' document states

Again... :roflol: at enlightened, progressive Liberals.

Do you think the OP took into account the opinion of all Virginia teachers and stakeholders or just the ones that supported their views?

If that was it, that would have been half-bad - there's no shortage of special-ed classes. But it is evident, Virginia educators want school curricula be easier so the need for special-ed classes not be overwhelming.

That is simply not true no matter how many times you parrot it.

They are still being taught Algebra and Geometry, just not as stand alone classes but instead in conjunction with each other...which seems a pretty smart thing since one builds off the other.

Thank you for proving that nobody said that math was racist. Did you even bother to open the link?

Just the ones that oppose VMPI initiative. Evidently, there aren't many of these welcoming the initiative, outside of those whose children sit in the very back of classrooms.

Yeah, I had a hard time understanding the concepts of some algebra until used in practical applications.

I agree it is frustrating when people spread false information about what is being said or done.

Nobody? Google math professor Laurie Rubel or for that matter Google "math is racism".

So I was doing algebra 2 and geometry in 8th and 9th grade and trig in 10th.

Why the hell should I have to wait and sit in classes with material I already know because these other kids can’t keep up?

Actually, it's how both parties would prefer their voters be. You think the Trump's of this world get elected by smart people? The AOC's? Not a chance.
