    why are right-wingers embracing Putin?

Not sure why.. I suppose it is mix of stupidity and hate. Putin is a murderous thug that as soon as not take a shiat down the throats of his newly found admirers if he could get some gain from the action.

I am continually amazed that the right thinks Putin is somehow a leader to be admired. He isn't answeralble to anyone, his is as close to a dictator as one can get, he can ignore parliament with impunity, he seems to have no problem killing his own citizens, like leveling much of chechnya, throws his political opponents in jail, etc. etc.

He is more powerful than Obama because he dictates what the policy will be and everyone says okee dokee. No american president has ever been nor hopefully will ever be politically all powerful like Putin. Of course we won't go into how much Obama's political opponents have attempted to undercut and stymie his agenda from day one.

He may not be the best president in history, but at least he's a helluva upgrade from the last guy.

(laughs) All claims against "independent". They just did not consult with you. Although Ukrainians are not friends with math. Calculations of gas prices - this proof. So, the Ukrainians and 170% are possible.

(laughs) You can even howl at the moon, but the poll shows who is who. Homosexuals do not like Putin. For "anti gay law." Adequate people like Putin. Now we know your opinion.

And what of this now in Chechnya? Putin and the Chechen people expelled terrorists from their land. Some terrorists have found refuge in the United States. For example, in Boston. Incidentally, the Russian special services had warned the FBI and CIA about terrorists. But the CIA and the FBI chose not to believe Russian. The result is known. So, now everything is fine in Chechnya. All the terrorists fled to the United States. Interestingly, the United States will give refuge to Syrian terrorists? What do you think?

I guess those who voted in the poll are mostly Europeans and in majority British , so let's explore the other options:

David Cameron : long live the austerity , not the most loved person among the Brits who have the tendency to rip their public persons apart
Barak Obama : Wall street lapdog & neoliberal with an impulse to stick his nose in people's emails and phone calls.
Angela Merkel : neoliberal , enough said
Francois Hollande : neoliberal dog and a liar , we wouldn't win the poll even if all the voters were French (or specially then)
Dilma Russef : Stretching the budget to organize a world cup while people live in poverty & send the cops to silence protesters , another neoliberal dog in the list
Matteo Rinzi : Just got the PM position in Italy , another of the so "loved" philoeuropeans (neoliberal dog)
Shinzo Abe : Unless you are into printing industry exporting supplies to Japan there is absolutely no reason to bother yourself with this guy (although he is the master of QE)

To sum up , Europeans and especially the British do not share the "vision" of EU and their silly policies so naturally Putin wins by standing against all this nonsense.

I think it is possibly a bit more worrying - may have a lot more to do with Farage of UKIP praising Putin as the best and his minions agreeing. People were voting for UKIP as their favourite party

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...l-as-the-nations-favourite-party-9069625.html

However please be aware this is not in Scotland where UKIP is not accepted and indeed from where Farage had to make a hasty retreat being called racist.

So Russia is making friends with the Far right in Europe not least because they want their countries to leave the EU. Farage has I think betrayed the real position of UKIP - fits in with Russia on anti gay and I would imagine racism which it is well known most of his followers have backgrounds in but which he has been trying to clean up in order to get more votes. Not only the 'far right' but I understand also the 'hard left' are supporting Russia and Putin.

But you know in the UK you do not need a far right party, the conservatives have always stood up to do the job and get the votes that otherwise would have gone to parties like the National Front, BNP and now UKIP....and what are they up to now. Possibly one of the most nazi things ever. We are deporting our Muslim citizens on hearsay. Theresa May can deport them whenever they go on holiday and hence they will miss the very short opportunity to appeal. So far she has just managed to do this to Muslims with dual nationality but recently she has been trying to do this to people with only British citizenship hence would make them stateless....ho hum though I may at last have found we actually do have a reason for the house of lords because it looks like they have not yet forgotten democracy and human rights and are going to blow her bill to pieces.

So yes, of course an unfortunate ground swirl in England loving Putin. How far they have fallen.

Thankfully for me we have the choice to vote for Independence in a few months. We hopefully can then become non aligned and will be there to help and work with progressive English

and Putin and his mates saying this

    http://nyyrc.com/blog/2014/04/russias-secessionist-strategy-exposed/

    can just (*)(*)(*)(*) off

The majority in Scotland by the way are in favour of staying in the EU.

The left / right dilemma exists no more in many places around Europe , the question is : do you accept be ruled by a bunch of banksters in Brussels or not ?
Farange is popular here because he is in the "not" side and i bet this is the major reason his nationals are supporting UKIP.
Citizens are looking for solutions to their every day problems and the degradation of their living standards , very few care if those who have the answers are nazis, anarchists or the pope . Ideology is fine but it does not solve real issues.

speak for yourself and live with the consequences. Golden Dawn were of course being financed by Putin. It is your conscience you will need to live with.

I am a voter and a member of EPAM .
XA is not financed by any Putin since this would be illegal, all parties are getting money from the state budget .

Voting and recent poll results show that i am not speaking only for myself .

Here, in USA, we buy our political leaders, elections is an auction. A very big auction. Money is "speech" and corporations are "people". This is what our Supreme Court decided for us. People, who bought by big corporations, direct our "public opinion" and foreign politics. Moreover, they control media and "news". Communism was a big lie, but communists told a lot of truth about capitalism.

    so? What is EPAM.

I thought Golden Dawn were a criminal organisation. You say that although being found to be a criminal organisation with the leader in jail, your taxpayers are paying for them. Guess you have some other problems you should be looking into. Information says they were supported including financial support by Russia. The far right in Europe are being supported by Russia whether it is Jobbic, Golden Dawn, Marie Le Penn, Widers or UKIP. Given that your previous post was expressing approval for this what is your problem now?
I was referring to you yourself giving excuses for supporting Putin, the European far right and Nazism and really you can only speak for yourself.

A party , we believe that Greece should leave the EU and this is about it . We have members from all political orientations .

You have missed some episodes , according to a recently released video the government forced judges to jail XA members for the purpose of eliminating political opponents , unfortunately for them there was not enough evidence to keep them in jail. Even in oppressive EU regimes judiciary needs evidence. I am not saying that XA is not a criminal organization , they are as criminal as the two parties in coalition government.

I am a communist so there is no way to approve or willing to coexist with nazis but i am also a political scientist and i have to try and explain phenomena like the alleged "rise of the far right" . It is not in topic , if you want more insight open a thread or leave me a PM.

I am not giving excuses , i think my reasoning for Putin winning the poll is solid.
