I was checking about the services of 911 over Digital networks as a part of security audit of our firm. I found that the digital line and the telephone line will handle a 911 request in a different way. This one is really interesting and worth reading. http://www.thinktel.ca/911-limitations/. I don't know why our ISPs are hiding such critical information from us.
I still prefer a cell phone in case the power is out or you are out in the boonies (Verizon coverage is pricy but the best).
