When he told his disciples to follow the law of Caesar. The Roman imperial state was the "big government" of its day.
he said give unto Caesar what is Caesars and unto God what is Gods thereby cutting the state of Caesar in half. And, Jesus was being politic to survive, he obviously did not believe that Caesar was worthy in any way. Care to try again?
I'm sure you can pervert the message effectively enough to prove that to yourself. But really the republican ideology is all over the place as of right now. You could say almost anything about them and it would be hard to disprove. Jesus taught that people should not be following ways that contradicted the essential commandments of God, even if those ways were scripturally allowed. The two essential commandments were to love God and to love one another. All of the ten commandments are really just variations of those two. He taught that if what a person holds in their heart is counteractive to one of those commandments, he sins, even if he appears outwardly pious.
any reason to think that?? Care to share the reason? - - - Updated - - - do you have any idea what your point is? If so why not share it with us. Thanks
Are both Jeb Bush and Donald Trump republicans? Are the Koch brothers? Seems like they all stand for very different ideologies to me.
And Christians won by peaceful means. They became famous in the Roman arenas for dying rather than repenting their religion.
Hmmm All of them seem to want the government to do different things as far as I can see. But none of them want it to do nothing.
yes and ultimately Rome had to turn to Christianity but by then it was too late to use Christians to preserve an earthly empire that Christians did not believe in. - - - Updated - - - why not try to be specific???
