    absurd and meaningless. People did not do this in the Republican 1950's. Culture taught people how to behave then and gave them a sense of responsibility. Heard of the broken windows theory? In the Christian Republican 1950's you had to go to confession for lying to your mother about taking a cookie from the cooking jar. Today's liberal kids play Grand Theft Auto and glorify en masse murder by default!!

    The Religion of Peace didn't engage in worldwide terrorism in the 1950's, either.

    Meantime, profiling is an important science. Hardly 'meaningless'.

    Do you think they (whoever you imagine is desperate) WANT to think that their elderly white next door neighbour named Bob Smith might be planning martyrdom?
