While I like the AG (Bill Barr) I also think there is a lot of maleficence being swept under the carpet to protect the establishment and to protect former President Obama.

    *LOL*

    Of course they do.

I wonder if they can locate "absolute immunity" in there.

Yes, I'm sure that AG Porky Pig puts on his "Deep State" mask and robe and hides that stuff.

    *LOL*

Depends on your meaning of Deep State. "James Comey" Deep State? No. establishment? Maybe, yes. I like Bill Barr, doesn't mean I agree with his stance on every issue.

Yes. I'm listening to Nadler try to suggest that Trump did something worse than Nixon. What a buffoon, that Nadler!

What's a stance or statement from Trump with which you disagree?

How about the buffoonery of the Trump legal team to argue that Abuse of Power is not an impeachable offense?

Open a new thread and let it be discussed there. Why derail this thread with your questions?

Jerry needs to add an inflection or 400 into his presentation. Otherwise, here's my response to the substance of the presentation:

They did? You mean they aren’t basing his defense on all of Rudy’s evidence of crimes?

Why has every Democrat who’s spoken so far kept comparing Trump’s Presidency to that of King George? Wtf am I missing?

King George is the reason the US Constitution and the Impeachment Power granted to the Congress.

I take it you would agree with him when he agrees with the President and disagree with him when he disagrees with the President, no?

Yes, I understand that, but what does that have to do with Trump and his presidency? Schiff was comparing the rule of both yesterday.

Exactly. I'd add "and his Ministers." IMO, impeachment is the exercise of the sovereign power of the people, as expressed through their elected representatives. Conviction upon impeachment is the agreement of the States, as represented by the Senate.

Depends on the stance. Can you think of an instance where Bill Barr and President Trump disagree on an issue?

Good point but what is the opinion of the electorate? Surely that’s would mean voting for impeachment in the house and rejecting it in the senate, going but the most recent elections given that this is purely partisan political game playing.

Agreed. It is difficult to cover historical quotes from Founding Fathers and maintain your audience without some very strong rhetorical flourishes.

If I may interject...the Glorious Revolution of 1688, in England, transferred political sovereignty from the monarch to the Parliament. King George made attempts to restore monarchial political sovereignty, superior to Parliament. He was also crazy. Schiff may have been trying to draw a comparison. Remember, Trump was not elected by the people, but by the electoral college composed of individuals selected by the individual states. In such cases, the person elected either by the electoral college, with a popular minority vote, or even in close elections with a small popular majority, the President usually moves toward the middle upon election, in recognition of either no popular majority or a small one. Trump doubled down.

Engaging in corruption doesn't hurt us?

    Hokay.
