How does your version differ from the preponderance of evidence? I'm eager to hear.

Maybe, just maybe, Americans are better at picking our leaders than Germans are? Reagan turned out to be a great President who had major historical significance, so I'm happy that Americans pick their own leaders rather than Germans.

Ivanka is basically a liberal Democrat. She's loyal to her father, but no reason to think she would have any loyalty to Pence. She would be a bad choice, but on the other hand, it may not make much difference. Who the Republicans pick to run in 2024 may be not much more relevant than who the Libertarians or Greens pick to run that year.

No, I won't be voting for an Ivanka/Pence ticket.

...then again, theres a lot of folks voting for Biden/Harris who never would have...

...so I guess we'll see what the alternatives are.

I wanna see Rand Paul vs Tulsi Gabbard in 2024.

I think celebrity, back then, was a little more sane. And you need to look at the individual men. Reagan was a good and decent human being. At least, that's what I remember. Trump has never been described in that way. I believe, strongly, that Trump supporters today know very little about Trump before he descended that escalator. If they had, I can't imagine they would have voted for him to be the leader of the country.

Narcissism and sociopathy are basic requirements for the Presidency. Think about it a little. What kind of person thinks they should have the power to enforce their will on millions of other people? The answer is the kind of person who runs for President. The same kind of person who becomes a CEO.

Interestingly enough, those in media/journalism are more likely to be psychopaths than police officers. I didn't know that before seeing it in Wikipedia today. This kind of explains the vicious attacks on the Covington kids by the MSM and Hollywood.

There is precedent for a non consecutive two term presidency.

I think it was Grover Cleveland.

~ Yeah .. .interesting thought. I think a Pence / Don Trump Jr. ticket is more likely. Some think Nikki Haley will run. Other contenders could be "Texas" Ted Cruz , Texas Governor Greg Abbott , Senator Rick Scott .

That's an interesting take on the reason a person runs/becomes a leader. I see it very differently (although I will admit there are definitely people who take on leadership roles for the purpose you suggest). People who take on roles in public service generally do so because they think they can make things better. And they want to try. They recognize skills within themselves that will benefit the greater good. Some are natural born leaders and some have to work at it.

The motivation that you've suggested is not leadership. They don't want to lead anyone or anything. Their purposes are purely personal. And that describes Trump perfectly.

Indeed it does - no one is suggesting that politicians are selfless saints.

So ignore the data that devastates your opinion? I provided sources for my assertions, you set them aside in favor of how you WANT the world to be.

I will go further and give you an ACADEMIC source for my assertion.

I see the blinding narcissism in every Presidential candidate, you are only able to see it in the Presidential candidates you disagree with politically. Please provide an academic source for your assertion or admit that your opinion is based on something other than evidence (perhaps partisan bias).

I think you might think about scaling back on the morning coffee, HD. I wasn't ignoring your data, I was providing my opinion. My view. And I don't have an academic source for my opinions and views.

I love the idea of a Trump dynasty. As boomers decline in numbers the next new wave of conservatives is the millennials. They are a huge voting bloc numbering over 80 million and doesn't hurt that Ivanka is one. The millennials decided the last election and will decide 2020 and 2024. MATA (Make America Trump Again!!!).

It's not a requirement to get elected. Jimmy Carter and George HW Bush aren't/weren't narcissists, and GW probably isn't either. Ford wasn't elected. Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Obama and Trump. Yep, I'd say they all are/were narcissists.

These types of studies are meaningless to us. We think we can look at a list, see one profession higher or lower than another, and conclude "See, all those people are psychopaths." It's a fallacious argument.
