This not accurate as it's listed in more than one secession document. But moreover they made their case very clear in nearly every secession document that their issue was with repeated violations of the constitution by the northern states. To provide evidence of this they referenced slavery along with taxation and several grievances.

But according to the Supreme Court the federal government attempting to force incoming states to be nonslaveholding WAS unconstitutional. And as you just stated Lincoln made it clear he would continue to act unconstitutionally.

Okay. Snotloller that you tried to use the southern poverty law center as a legitimate non biased source. Just source the BJS study next time.

But I haven't been making that argument. I don't care what color these violent offenders victims are. I care about who the ones who are committing the disproportionate amount of violent crime are. A victimization study does nothing to refute my position.

Other options such as reducing federal assistance for areas where there is a disproportionate amount of violent crime. Taking money away from schools that are steeped in violence. Removing welfare and government assistance for violent offenders. Removing children from the homes of these women who go out here and have 7 or 8 children they can't take care of. Restricting people who are already on welfare for being able to continue to receive it if they continue to have children they can't afford.

Policies that put pressure on the people within their communities and the family members of these violent criminals to stand up and against the violence. If they refuse to do it because of a concern for human life maybe they'll do it when you start taking their government funded lifestyles away.

And no of course not every single one of them are. Just like every single person who drinks and drives with a .08 BAC is not going to kill anyone or even cross the lines on the road. But we punish the entire group regardless. Just like no white people today had anything to do with slavery or the Jim Crow laws and very few involved in the discrimination in the early 1900s but we punish the entire white population by denying them federal assistance that other races have access to because they're white. Just like we punish all drug users even if they've done nothing other than break the drug laws insofar as crime. Just like we punish men more severely for the same offenses than we do women.

But regardless my original plan would only punish those black people who were tried and convicted of a violent crime. Not all black people.

Says the person who knows nothing about NC politics. The democrats have been gerrymandering districts for decades. And the republicans won in spite of that fact. They'll continue to win especially given that dems can't draw districts to fit their voter base.

I didn't need gerrymandered districts to win and I won't need them this time.

Uhhh victimization reports have literally nothing to do with this discussion. You should probably save your clapping until you actually read and know what's going on. Just a suggestion.

Why? Because my position is that if discrimination is acceptable against one race then it must be acceptable against all races?

If they don't like my position maybe they should stop discriminating against white people.

Then the Southrons should have sued the Feds, and if they won and weren't paid they should have sued again. Laws work this way, it's slow, tiresome and can appear "weak" but it beats getting out your guns and risking you and your families freedom, fortunes and lives, Well, it does for sane people

Lincoln was as free to say he wanted a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting slavery in the new territories as was anyone else. That's one of the really nice things about the Constitution, It's amendable. The Southrons didn't have to go to war to leave the Union, they could have tried to have the Constitution amended so they could leave, Hell, they could have called a Constitutional Conventions and rewritten the whole thing

NOTHING of what you have said justifies or excuses going to war. I don't understand why conservatives don't understand that unless it's in self-defense it's NEVER right to just MURDER PEOPLE. The American Revolution WAS self-defense, the British Army was acting as an occupying force and it was actually killing Americans, a goodly number. The American Army in 1860 had not killed one Southron and in fact had DEFENDED the slaveholders when John Brown had attempted to start a slave revolt. (Think on that for a minute, we today are influenced mainly by the fact that John Brown had only 8 men, but he had taken possession of an ARMORY and was calling on the slaves and other abolitionists to come and join him. What if the Federal Government had just let him alone and the slaves and abolitionists had come, what might have happened?)

You're still mischaracterizing what occurred. The northern states and federal government were in breach of contract. Once they're in breach of contract and refuse to stop doing so the contract becomes null and void. The southern states had EVERY right to become their own country. But the powerhungry and mad north refused to allow that to happen.

All the north had to do was let the south go and there would have been no violence. They REFUSED to do so. As such the northerners were the ones who brought war and violence and murder on the south.

The governor? Lol McCrory lost because he pissed off an area north of Charlotte by supporting toll roads. An area that he needed to win. That was his mistake and he still almost won.

But that doesn't change the fact republicans hold a supermajority and have a veto proof majority against the new governor. So yes. They won. Decisively in fact.

No actually it had very little to do with it. Like I said you don't know anything about nc politics. The same people North of charlottes who voted in the republicans that voted for HB2 also voted against McCrory. Why? Because he supported toll roads and they hated him for it.

And how did the republicans win in 2012? Democrats had controlled the nc legislature for nearly half a century before then.

What did the courts have to say about how the voting district lines were drawn? I think the courts support my claim.

The court full of liberals you mean? The republicans would have won if it went to the SCOTUS. They didn't because they didn't need to. They didn't draw the lines based on race. They drew them based upon party affiliation which is 100% constitutional. The problem is that blacks vote for democrats approximately 95% of the time. So when you draw districts based upon party affiliation naturally the black population is going to get stuck in a democrat district which makes it appear they are drawing against black people.

There was no documentation or evidence whatsoever that they were drawing the lines based upon race. No memos no emails nothin whatsoever. The liberal court simply pushed their agenda. Just like the liberal courts kept blocking trumps immigration order even after the SCOTUS said it was legal. It's nothing more than judicial activism from lower courts.

But you know what the good thing about judicial activism is? All you need to reverse it is more judicial activism from your side.

I challenge you or anyone else, the courts included, to provide evidence that they drew the districts based upon race and not party affiliation.

Shrug doesn't change the fact that there is literally zero evidence it happened. And it doesn't change the fact that it doesn't matter. The districts are being redrawn and they're being redrawn by republicans.

Can you give us some examples of Federal benefits that are only open to blacks?
    Who fired on Ft. Sumter?

The Constitution isn't a contract. It's a treaty and you can't just pull out of a treaty unilaterally, especially one that has to do with sovereignty. Once you surrender sovereignty you can't get it back unless the entity you surrendered it to is willing to let you, that's just how sovereignty works

I would agree. Country music has massively changed for the worse. However, if your going to compare modern country music, to modern rap, and act as if their the same. There is seriously something wrong with you. Shall I give examples.
