So you don't believe it really happened, but you started a thread on it anyway, and acted as if it really happened?

No wonder there are so many of these type of hoaxes. A lot of people want in on the action.

It's the new digital, social media world.
Having said that, there has been nothing yet, AFAIK, stating the waitress was lying. I would think by now someone would've proved it was a hoax. Maybe it's still coming, I don't know.

from a forensic psych perspective, it's absolutely fake. the giveaway is the compliment. she revealed herself in avoiding a criticism of the service (which would be more likely, but not as likely as nothing at all), and confirmed it by actually using a compliment. she wants to keep her job, after all. this would be a no brainer in an actual investigation.

Meanwhile, I've been subjected to similar types of racism (spelled out, to my face) quite a few times in my lifetime. I could barely care less, other than the annoyance of having to 'shop elsewhere' or whatever. I've been angry once or twice when my kids were little and copped it at school, but that was no different to the usual parental protection urge. Occasionally I've actually felt bad for the person doing the racism ... in the same way you feel bad for someone with an incurable disease, or impediment.

I really don't get why non-white Americans go postal at the slightest indication of racial bigotry. Just (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ignore them and go on living your great life. Show them how wrong they are by being a success.

Multiply you getting angry once or twice, by 40M or so. Some are bound to be more angry. And may try to go public to make a point.
And not all 40M or so, USA numbers, can be successful.
