    Thank you for answering the question. We have had a lively but civilized debate. As a parent who almost lost a child in battle, I have learned something.

    This is it.... We give up our children in battle for the defense of our nation or in defense of our best, most longstanding and loyal allies. No one else for any reason.

    Lord your post is one fine example of what is wrong with our republic.

    Sad that our great experiment in self government seem to be coming to an end an the very best we are likely to be able to hope for is getting a fairly bright strong man such as Putin into power instead of the fool and clown we have now in the white. house.

    The founders model us on the early Rome Republic to a large degree an we seem to be following that pattern in our dying as a Republic also.

    The concentration of great wealth into a very few hands, the military being professional soldiers instead of citizen soldiers,an so on.

    It is a shame that my lifetime have been long enough to allow me to see this beginning of the ending of a great nation.

    The President is no ideologue, partisan, professional politician, or a member of the permanent political class, which drives them crazy. But those of us who support him don't always like everything about him personally or everything he does--honestly some of his remarks/tweets/FB posts etc. are positively cringeworthy. But we didn't elect somebody that we could hold up as a sort of idol or God to gush over. We elected him to do what he said he would do as President, and so far, for the most part, he has not disappointed. He has accomplished more and been more faithful to his campaign promises than any President in my now very long lifetime.

    The fact is that the Never Trumpers and I-hate-Trump and the TDS crowd don't have ANYTHING to use to counter what the President is actually doing and getting done so they deflect, derail, dig up old news, obfusicate, prevaricate, and spread as much disinformation as possible. And they can't understand why this isn't winning us over most especially when they characterize Trump supporters as:

    RACIST
    Deplorable
    Hateful
    Nazis
    Fascist
    Violent
    White Supremacists
    Sexist
    Xenophobic
    Fear brown people
    Islamophobic
    Homophobic
    Christian sharia
    Basement dwellers
    Birthers
    Misogynistic
    The term related to tea bags the board won't let us use
    Greedy
    Uncaring
    Hate the poor
    Hate women
    Hate minorities
    Want to keep the poor in poverty
    Violate every person's bedroom and every woman's womb
    Smelly Walmart people
    Low information
    Uneducated
    Clinging to their guns and religion
    and white women vote according to how their husbands, bosses, sons tell them to vote.

    Did I miss anything?

    News flash: Not the best tactic to win friends and influence people. :)

    Boy, there's some pretty strong Tolkein level fantasy narrative writing going on with the Trump memes in here.

    Trump is anti-establishment? Trump is anti-deep state? Trump is anti-corruption? LOL. I thought those silly childish narratives would disappear after he won the campaign, but I guess I was wrong there.

    I admit, once I examined the top ranked presidents, it came to me, we had the top all time best president in our own lifetime. Reagan ranks number 1.

    LOL yes the Trump supporters are largely all of the above an you can only win their friendship by being a racist yourself that is assuming you are lucky enough to be white Christian male with little or no latin blood in your veins.

    The funny part is their overwhelming fear that they are being out number by people that do not look like them and even speak another language at home.

    Thank god that Trump is an idiot as that tend to limit the harm he can do even with his torch bearing supporters.

    If he was say a Napoleon type with the respect of the military instead of their contempt I can just see him throwing the DC Old Guard units around congress and the SC similar to Napoleon actions when he took over.
