In a most revealing exchange with New Jersey Republican Scott Garrett, White House Budget Director Jeff Zients admitted what we all know, a federal judge has acknowledged, and Democrats try to deny - that the penalty for refusing to submit to the ObamaCare Individual Mandate is not a tax, it's a fine... I'd say Obama and the Democrats are BUSTED here, but this admission hardly qualifies as a revelation. However, it will make a nice addition to the arguments against the unconstitutional individual mandate in the government-mandated healthcare protection racket otherwise known as ObamaCare. Nice work, Scott Garrett and Jeff Zients!
They call it a tax when convenient then deny it is a tax as necessary. Just more democrat dishonesty. The democrats really have become the party of lies, but they enjoy the luxury of having a complicit main stream media that active obfuscates the truth.
The following back-and forth exchange between the president and George Stephanopoulos on the health care debate and the individual mandate was very good! Barack Obama attempts to explain to George when a tax is not a tax. In an attempt to help the president, George graciously reads the definition of a tax from Merriam-Webster Dictionary to our bumbling president: Tax"a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes." And what is Obama's response? His response is, "For us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase." This is remarkable! It turns out the President thinks a health-care tax is not a tax if he thinks the tax is for your own good. Given this logic, how this fellow was ever elected as president is beyond me. Judging from Obama's latest approval ratings, over 55% of the American voters now agree and support this statement!
The only thing more embarrassing than Obama, are the millions of indoctrinated, gullible sheep who can listen to his dissembling and prevarications....and still gleefully permit this pathologically dishonest fraud to herd them into the gelding pen. we can survive him.... we cannot survive them.

I merged these threads. I heard the health director speak on our local conservative radio station yesterday. I think that's his title. When asked if this fine for not buying Obamacare was a tax, he danced around the question. The host kept asking the same question and he finally said in words that meant "sort of, yes" that it is indeed a tax. How the hell else would they make money to put into our government programs, or continue spending it on bailouts or more stimulus bills? I hope the Republican presidential candidates start speaking to the public in the states that they campaign in because this is the number one question that will raise eyebrows. They promised transparency and did not show us anything. Nothing. Nada.
