No, I have no criticism of either her or him. "Slut" is not a word I use as it is judgmental. Rather, the word is "promiscuous," which is factual.

Sure, I agree with you as that is the best answer. But I wanted to hear from Margot2. She has fancied herself to be a name tosser.

Really? I'm 11 years older than my wife but I fail to recall that she thought it was "repulsive" when I first flirted with her (she was 19 at the time). I believe the vast majority of heterosexual couples feature a man older than the woman. To each his/her own, perhaps it's not "repulsive" to you only if a younger man flirts with an older woman, at any age.

ethically and morally, it's completely objectionable. 17 is too young to be dating mature adults.

By older I mean well outside one's own age range. I'm not a fan of grown men dating teenagers, however, so I would say that 11 years is too big a gap for the 19 year old.

My position is that 5 years either way (older or younger) is a comfortable limit, once you're an adult. Personally, I would never date someone who was even 5 years older than me. Probably 2 years absolute max.

It's a good thing my wife never felt that way, we have 6 children and have been happily married coming up on our 40th anniversary. Like I said, to each his/her own. "Repulsion" is in the eyes of the beholder.

    17 was the example given.

As stated, I don't believe teenagers should be dating mature adults.

My grandparents were 14 years apart, married when she was 21. They were married for 50 years and only death parted them. They weren't blissfully happy, but then they didn't have fights or anything dramatic, either. Later in life (after he'd passed away), she said "he was too old for me".

And yes, repulsion is in the eye of the beholder. I'm extremely particular about appearances (yes, it's a flaw, I know - but I've gotten away with it since teen years so no reason to ever lower my standards). The only males I ever give a second look at now, in middle age, are those who have the bodies of athletes, and are at the very least ... above average in looks. Few men in middle age meet that criteria, and even fewer in the 55+ category. Thankfully, I've been happily married to the same very good looking and very fit man - who is the same age as me - for decades :)

Are we using the Hollywood rule or the general population rule?

Weren't you talking about dating really young "sugar babies" in past posts? It does have a nicer connotation than "young prostitute" I'll give you that.

I couldn't vote in the poll because, evidently, we've become so fanatically crazed in this country now that if any man even initiates any kind of conversation with any woman at all, he can be thrown. face-first. into the 'arena' of public ridicule. hatred, and scorn, and then have his life torn to pieces by the animals that are let loose to destroy him... with no PROOF at all that he ever did anything 'wrong' in the first place!

My advice to any young adult guy in the U. S.? Get good at masturbation and save yourself a LOT of potential misery....

mid-late 20's on, roughly. and the younger the teen, the smaller the gap ought to be. teens are just big children, with zits.

here's a better idea. become 'top 20%', and treat women as you treat friends.

any man who does those two things, will never want for female attention.

26 have answered this poll with "legal age is legal age" and only 1 said no.

Yet we keep hearing "another accuser" has come out again Roy Moore.

Accuser? Of what? The latest is an 18 year old who said Moore (32) asked her for a date. She said no. End of story. How is that an "accusation?" Of what?

I think he lying about dating or wanting to date teens. But it's not illegal nor immoral in my opinion. Yes, most teenagers would think a 32 year old guy asking her out is "creepy" or would just say no. But nothing wrong with that. The accusation of forced groping (2) is another matter, particularly the 14 year old. But she has never said so in public and it just a hearsay accusation by a Democrat reporter.

This message is not entirely a defense of Moore. Rather, that we should separate what is an "accusation" of misconduct and what is not. Asking someone out on a date who is of legal age - even if much younger - is not misconduct.
