More contemporary Jazz, although I'm really into the Golden Age of the '50s and '60s...

It's a still image showing the rapper "Genocide" with a Bosnian flag over his shoulder. Not so offensive I would say ... But the lyrics are quite explosive. The song celebrates Islamic freedom fighters who fight against the West.

I'm sorry I wasn't more precise - I was referring to the Sex Pistols video you posted. I was able to view the other rap video.

I can see how some people would find that objectionable, including people from Bosnia. We have a large Bosniak expat community in our area and the ones I've met don't share his views at all. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them think he's doing a great disservice to their community.

I can also see why that might get banned in Europe but I don't think it should be banned here in the United States and I'm glad it isn't. Personally, I find his views idiotic but I don't consider stupidity grounds for nullifying someone's freedom of expression.

As a child, he witnessed the Bosnian war when Christian Serbs massacred his Muslim people. That has shaped him.

Europeans aren't more squeamish than Americans. :)

Another Muslim extremist rap song ...

The Bosniaks I've met witnessed that, too. They fled here for their lives during the wars in the Balkans.

Which illustrates the stupidity of the idiots who wage jihad against the West that gave them refuge...

Of course, Europeans are more squeamish. They have "hate speech" laws to protect their precious sensibilities and we don't.

...and I can view it, not that I'm going to waste my valuable time doing so.

Suffice it to say, I've seen much worse videos than that over the years, and while the YouTube kiddie channels may block that content - as is their right as a private entity to do so - you can still watch the worst "humanity" has to offer if you're willing to look for it and stare into the abyss.

It's not because the people are squeamish. It's a precaution. The Hitler era has shown how dangerous Hate Speech can be. Words can be sharp weapons. Europe had to learn this painfully at the end of the last millennium.

Words are just words. They're no different over here than they are over there.

Bottom line, it's fear, and obviously words aren't the problem.

With words, you can stir up fear and hate. This is dangerous and sometimes results in violence.
