Love Ken Hensley. I think have everything he has ever done. Every band he was in or worked with and solo.

Your comment about German bands lured me back to my old standby at Rockpalast, where, in a frenzy --- yes, frenzy! --- of web-foo I unearthed this in your honor....

Nice! Love the Heep. Hensley is an incredible organist and lyricist.

Now we turn to a subject which may not interest some viewers, that being the automobile. First, driving lessons from Kurt Russell and others. Then the one with the nice cars.

Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and Rod Stewart were all in the first supergroup, Steampacket, along with the man who gave Elton John part of his new name...Long John Baldry. Here's an instrumental by them...

I discovered Steampacket probably 30 years ago and you are literally the first person I know that has heard of them.

    (*curtsy*)

The more I read about Long John Baldry, the more I realized how vital he was to the British music scene. I met him a few years ago after an Ontario concert. Thoroughly mesmerizing in person. Here's his earliest big hit...

I like how entire audience can sing on key.

Billy Joel. Oddly enough titled Piano Man but plenty of harmonica in there.

Joel finally let us in on the history behind that song. It is almost 100% true including the names. The bartender really was named John and the real estate novelist and Davey in the Navy and the whole magnificent spiel. And there's even a bit on harmonica as well.... One of the greatest pop songs ever.

This Canadian whirlwind has produced more beautiful --- and sometimes unforgettable --- mostly instrumental music with a strong Latin and world-music flavor. This is his song I consider his best...but the second link below should get you to his "best of," and from there I hope you too will enjoy the immensely talented Jesse Cook.

Tuba Skinny is an actual street-performance busker-band with guaranteed feel-good Dixieland. Prepare for dancin' in the street, phenomenal washboard playing, and a coronet player straight out of Wild Bill Davison style (maniac) playing.
