What Can Be Done With Unaccompanied Illegal Migrant Children?

Most of us have heard and read the reports of the migrant children coming across the U.S./Mexico border illegally. The opinions on what to do with the tens-of-thousands of unaccompanied children varies widely.

As we’ve seen in their posts, most conservatives and neoconservatives feel no compassion for anything but the unborn, they are undoubtedly for trucking them back south of the border and unloading them. Also on these message boards their prevailing opinion is, “this country owes these foreign children nothing”, which is much the same thing right-wingers say about children BORN in the U.S.A.

However, other American groups have less savageness towards these children of abject poverty, just as they do for impoverished children here at home. The answers are not easy, and are becoming more difficult as additional thousands of these kids arrive in the U.S.

Thinking back, many Americans remember Newt Gingrich’s 2012 Presidential campaign and his suggestion that the U.S. should once again permit child labor. Keeping that in mind, there is one option that has yet to be explored, and it should appeal to the conservatives, neoconservatives, and especially U.S. corporations with factories in China.

Perhaps, shipping these illegal immigrant children to China, to work in U.S. owned factories, would be the solution. It would save Big Business a considerable amount of money. Why, because these Latino children would be paid a pittance for their work while they attend Chinese schools, and since public Schools in China teach their students to speak English, the migrant children would also benefit greatly.

Additionally, the U.S. could negotiate a value for these children, say $500.00 per kid to come off the debt owed to China by the U.S.

So far this deal has Big Business increasing profits, and the U.S. debt to China being reduced. But, to motivate these kids to do their work they must be offered a goal. So, once they have graduated high school, they would continue to work, save their pay, and once they have saved enough to pay their passage back to the U.S. and enough money to live on for one year, they could return with a preferred status for gaining citizenship. However, arriving back in the U.S. without the necessary cash to be self-sufficient for one year, gets them deported back to their home countries.

Just think of the benefits those young adults, that successfully reach their monetary goal, would be to U.S. businesses. They would be able to speak English, Spanish, and Chinese. They would have had a sound work ethic beaten into them and be accustomed to the crappy wages the right wing wants for most workers in the U.S.

Imagine how much Big Business could increase their bottom lines, raise the bonuses paid to CEOs, and increase dividends to stockholders. These new workers would be well-trained, but with their spirits thoroughly broken, they would be the perfect employees for 21st century corporate America. They would be especially suited for the fast food industry, cleaning and janitorial work, and many other jobs.

Eliminating minimum wage would be inevitable with these many hundreds-of-thousands of newly minted citizens trained by the Chinese, eager to work for next to nothing, and never threatening to demand a raise or collective bargaining.

With an endless supply of these children coming into the U.S. then shipped to, and trained in China, companies could dictate working conditions to all of the overpaid U.S. workers that plague businesses nationwide.

Participants on these message boards have seen the many right-wingers’ posts criticizing the greedy American workers demanding higher wages. This solution for the migrant children would offer a conservative/neoconservative dream come true. However, in this conservative/neoconservative utopia, many right-wingers would eventually lose their jobs to these much cheaper workers. But given the right wings’ devotion to the one percent and Big Business, such job loss IS a sacrifice they should be more than willing to make.

For those that find this solution objectionable, they are they same people that find lunatics given the right to own firearms objectionable, and as everyone knows, very few elected officials listen to them.

Legalize them, make them a privileged class that white tax payers fund, raise them to be ethnic-nationalists and crown them the rulers of the New World in 30 years.

Yes, but the United States are the "good guys" and would keep track of all migrant children in the program. The $500.00 would simply be a finders fee, and would help offset some of the debt to China run up by Dubya's wars of choice in Iraq and Afghanistan. A win/win.

Now in all seriousness I feel deep sorrow for these kids BUT they need to go home period, NOT an Obama period but a real period. Withhold all aid, trade and discourage tourism to all of the offending countries until they come and get their kids.

However, for those who want these kids to stay I say pony up and adopt some. However do this on your dime and don't ask for taxpayer assistance.

 

Actually I'm very patriot to the old American ideals, not to the institutions and tyrannical men that run her.

Having seen their many posts regarding children of poverty, is certain an alarming number of conservatives and neoconservatives would consider this a viable plan also.

 

For a bunch of people who constantly scream you don't care anything about race (Not like them damn liberasls!) and see everyone as American and individuals y'all sure seem awfully obsessed with the 'white (non-Hispanic version)' thing. What's up with that, Cliven?
