What can we learn from the Bundy ranch situation?

Bundy seems to be doing that all by himself.

He's a leeching, racist dirtbag. Reid etc are a different issue, so don't sidetrack.

Bundy wants free grazing for his cattle on public land. He's a free loader.

Period.

No better than any one who abuses government assistance.

Bundy is an embarrassment to conservatives and I hate that he has coopted his illegal use of public land as a left versus right issue.

I'd much rather fight lefties on real issues, not the contrived crap Bundy has come up with.

Let's review the facts.

• The USA bought the land from Mexico in 1848.
  
• The land was administered by the General Land Office, which was established in 1812.
  
• Grazing Regulations were altered with Taylor Grazing Act of 1934
  
• The title of the land was not transferred to Nevada when it got statehood in 1864.
  
• Bundy's ancestors did not start homesteading until 1877.
  
• Lease payments was made until 1993.
  
• Every court case was lost by Bundy.

• The BLM took over in 1946 when the General Land Office and the United States Grazing Service established by the Taylor Act was combined

These are all facts.

What gives Bundy the right to argue otherwise?

Snope's also claims there is no such deal between ENN and Reid, yet somehow so many papers have come out and shown otherwise. Then when that starts coming to light, the claims of racism abounds. Have you watched the entire 6 minute interview? I supposed not. You prefer to run with one or two key strokes and claim victory and truth.

What can we learn from the Bundy ranch situation? For starters, conservatives/libertarians need to vett people they plan on going to bat for; secondly, this is another reason why the Libertarian party will never amount to anything politically as long as they have the mindset which they currently maintain. After reading the blog, it would seem that they actually wanted bloodshed to occur and of course would give total blame to the US Government. They need to re-think their platform.
