have you heard of the 16th ammendment ? I'm not even American and I know about it, how do you fancy your chances of changing the constitution cause thats what you would have to do to enact this fairtax bollocks, which is just another invention to get the wealthy out of paying their taxes.

the 16th ammendment allows the federal government to levy an income tax you idiot, which kind of blows the whole fairtax nonsense right out of the water before it even starts.

I think it is a prime example of a false narrative.

I bet 90% of Americans would support a progressive fair tax system, and yet no one ever seriously suggests it!

Discriminating against someone on the basis of their political views. Yes, that's exactly what a democracy is.

Well I guess it was a good thing that the Founders figured out a way to protect the minority from your tyrannical views by putting in measures that allow those discriminated against to obstruct such disgusting agendas.

Sorry, but I don't quite get what this fairtax thing is all about. Neither the website nor the video are very informative. Maybe you can help out and explain.

So does it basically want to finance state expenditures solely via VAT? And if so, how would that be fair and not ruin people with low and middle class incomes?

it gets rid of all taxes and IRS

    puts in a sales tax

so basically when richy rich buys his new yaght he pays lots

when poor jonesy saves n buys nly what he wants he pays nigh nil

those below poverty line get cash payment of 10k or so to make up he fist 20,000 they pay in sales tax from the gov so they break even, which they can keep is they dont spend 20k and live lean

wana pay empyee more? no tax penalty
wana 100% of your paycheck no problem you get it all not 60% liek now

wana buy used good? 0 tax

drug dealer pay cach for mercedes? he pays unlike now

wna asave for school? no problem u buy less pay les sin taxes

wana not ever fill out irs forms? no problem irs dissovled

wana buy and sell stocks n make more while providing for hungery biz needed expasnion money?? no problem cap gians gone :)

So you only want to add a sales tax on luxury items such as yachts, but not on essentials such as food, clothing and the heating bill?

Right now there’s a hell of a lot of mothers out there who find it hard enough as it is to keep their family fed and warm. Families who have to spend all their income on mere survival with no room left for savings. They’d be hard hit by seeming trifles such as the butter costing three times as much as before. It all adds up, you know.

right your paycheck goes from 60 of 100 to 95 of 100
    inflation stops
    and prices drop
so you have far greater purchsing power and standard of lviing
450B a year spent to comply with goofy IRS laws gone too

How can inflation stop if everything gets massively more expensive? How will prices drop if you add a tax on them?
And how will Granny cope who gets a 100% of her small pension already and won't get a cent more?
