Sorry, but I don't quite get what this fairtax thing is all about. Neither the website nor the video are very informative. Maybe you can help out and explain. So does it basically want to finance state expenditures solely via VAT? And if so, how would that be fair and not ruin people with low and middle class incomes?

So you only want to add a sales tax on luxury items such as yachts, but not on essentials such as food, clothing and the heating bill? Right now theres a hell of a lot of mothers out there who find it hard enough as it is to keep their family fed and warm. Families who have to spend all their income on mere survival with no room left for savings. Theyd be hard hit by seeming trifles such as the butter costing three times as much as before. How can inflation stop if everything gets massively more expensive? How will prices drop if you add a tax on them? And how will Granny cope who gets a 100% of her small pension already and won't get a cent more?
