This oversight committee meeting led by the despicable racist Elijah Cummings wasn't about truth, evidence, revelations, etc..

It was a political circus staged by corrupt and contemptable politicians who only care about themselves and gaining more power in the 2020 elections.

It wasn't a venue to cross examine, or get to the bottom of anything. Five minutes to cross examine? Nothing but a pathetic display of what is wrong with Washington D.C. and the need to sanitize the swamp things that infect it.

Umm..... Not in the least bit accurate here.. Cohen was providing evidence to satisfy his legal argument for his article 35 hearing to reduce his sentence by demonstrating cooperation. Can you imaging the outrage if the Clinton attorneys were hauled up in front of congress? This is the stuff that makes democrats look so stupid in public as well as hypocritical.

Can you see congress having Louis Lehrner's counsel show up and have his repeat her salacious comments about conservatives ""Damn right, I shut those F'ers down"... etc? Now that could be fun....

five minutes multiplied by how many members and how many chances to question?
the oversight hearings are not just about the rule for this witness's questioning. Its about many many more witnesses, more probing, more statement gatherings, more evidence placed into the congressional record. Here we have real crimes, real grand jury indictments, real convictions and a real impact on how an election was impacted and how this administration's conduct before and after the results were tabulated affected justice. Its appropriate that Congress fulfill its constitutional duty of oversight over the executive.

    1. Attorney client privilege is a creature of state law Bar Rules, discipline actions, CPLR in NY or equivalent in other states, case law and possibly other prospective authority. In order to learn about privilege in a particular state, review that jurisdiction's Civil Procedure laws, Bar Rules, case law, disciplinary hearings and actions, etc.
    2. Here are some links for NY privilege. Cohen may have been licensed in multiple jurisdictions, I don't know. Draw your own conclusions, but please try to avoid posting declarations about legal matters that might mislead. Privilege is a complex topic, and cannot be summarized in any jurisdiction in a one-liner post.
