    What an awesome idea!

This is a most insightful article about the pros and cons of this. A couple of ideas:

    No more Majors.

    No more silly required courses

In fact, why have classes at all?

No more grades. (Wow!) Proficiency exams instead.

    What about internships?

Then call them technical school instead. The purpose of the university is not to produce workers, but to educate people and produce scholarship.

We have those already. They are called trade/technical schools.

Actually technical colleges and universities were an option in the US years ago if you wanted to be an accountant you could go to a Business College for a focused four year degree in business. In Russia universities are dedicated to skills Engineering Colleges etc. Maybe we need to have those again?
