Cancel culture refers to the practice of pressuring institutions in the hopes that they punish a member with a controversial public profile. The key elements of cancel culture, therefore, are that: the individual or group calling for the cancellation puts pressure on some third party to impose sanctions on the putative transgressor; and that he or she does so because others perceived that they were psychologically or emotionally harmed by the transgressor’s speech (or historical actions). Examples of cancel culture include: protests to prevent a lecture from taking place; open letters to demand someone be removed from a list of fellows; and co-ordinated action on social media to get another user banned. https://staging.quillette.com/2020/07/14/yes-there-is-such-a-thing-as-cancel-culture/
"Sorry bout that... Before responding, I looked up the definition of the term online. It was basically described as - at its least - a withdrawl of support and, at worst, public shaming." ******************That is a pretty good definition. My question is: WHO came up with this current catch phrase?? What was it's original intent and purpose?? Our language is changing all the time.......with the addition of slogans and other catch phrases.. It has a very negative connotation....... and we have seen negative results of this "culture ".
Wait, you oppose the 2A and people owning a way of protecting themselves and their family? You oppose people being proud of their country based on race? You want people to get free stuff from the gov? WHY???
