I see many, many, many Republicans talk about how all of the candidates suck.

So, who would be your nominee for POTUS?

Or, what ideals do you want this person to have?

For me, I want a president that stands up for liberty and would actually have the balls to veto a bill like the National Defense Authorization Act. I want a president that isn't tied to any corporations. I want a president that has a non-interventionalist foreign policy. Hence why I support Paul.

So, who is your perfect candidate or what ideals would this made up person have?

I'm not a republican but my perfect candidate would basically be a Ron Paul who's less nationalistic and more internationalistic with an emphasis on promoting social entrepreneurship and community work at home and abroad. I would also like it if he were more into phasing out the federal reserve and slowly introducing another standard of currency rather than the rather swift introduction into both that he seems to want.

Ron Paul pretty much sums it up.

I think if you could fill Washington full of Pauls, the USA would be the envy of the world.

    Daryl Hannah.

Or, okay, Dennis Kucinich, if it has to be a guy in a suit.

Ron Paul without the nutty policies.

In other words, I would like a more isolationist, less globalistic candidate who does not believe the federal government needs to nose into everyone's pants and personal lives, is pro-science, and is truthful.

I want a president that is not accepted by the media, that's all. because I know that in a communist country, a real leader who is an outsider, will never be allowed on television, unless shown as a criminal, an idiot, or an insane.

If that were to happen, there wouldn't be any political news! What would the big news stations do? There wouldn't be any of this National Defense Authorization, Occupy Wall Street, bailouts, crippling economy, and crony capitalism! What would they do??

    Milton Friedman

I'd also take a Marco Rubio/Paul Ryan ticket.

Respects the constitution as the law of the land.

Not bought and paid for by special interest.

Doesn't wear religion/ or lack of religion on his/her sleeve.

Puts the country above his/her party.

Has a real intention to reform the big three, SS/Medicare/medicaid, so that these programs are sustainable well into the future.

Has a real desire to reform our education system.

    Respects the rights of states.

Has a non interventionist foreign policy.

Able to work with the other side.

Realizes the futility of our war on drugs.

Willing to take on the task of simplifying our tax code, closing loopholes, and making sure everyone pays their fair share.

    Doesn't pander on social issues.

Willing to make the spending cuts that are needed.

Able to relate to typical Americans.

In this day in age, I doubt anybody in our political system would meet even a small percentage of my expectations.

What about Paul's politics seem internationalist to you? He's accused all the time of being an isolationist.
What one of Paul's suggested policies seems to you like he's trying to 'nose into everyone's pants'? His hole thing is to marginalize the power of the federal government.

Well fine if we're reaching into intellectual figures

THAT would make for an interesting presidency

Ron Paul with, perhaps, a little more leniency on immigration. Pretty much my ideal candidate, though... and he's the only person I know with a track record of voting consistently with what he says for 30 years, proving that what he says is because he believes it rather than going with what's mainstream and then completely dismissing that when in power.

Good, good, that is something I can completely agree with.

    A huge bonus.

I guess everyone beat me to the punch on many key requirements, only thing missing is that we need a very hawkish approach to certian nations who are otherwise hostile to us. We need to be ready to drop the hammer on Iran and we need to give the Russians and the Chinese the finger because I don't trust either one.

Overall we need a candidate who is going make our country the economic juggernaut it once was and will "purge" the communist 5th column within our own homestead. Then again that's just wishful thinking.

The perfect candidate would be an anti establishment JFK type, but there is none, because they all submit to an elite that rules America.

    Jean-Luc Picard.

Maybe Optimus Prime, in a pinch.

Child of the 80s. Don't judge me -- I know some of you wish Hulk Hogan was running (again).
