it appears that i've forgotten more wherewithal, than you'll ever have

i would expect some with the wherewithal all to understand

to know better than to make a third-grade mistake like that

you should not have said that, see the difference?

My friend, just ignore me, it's better for you, I myself have given up on you!

Even a contradiction would be preferable to allowing me to make a mockery of yourself, for this I apologise!

The U.S. dollar would likely crash in value and the economy would go into a tailspin, which would crash the Euro and the European economy, which would crash the global economy and hurt virtually every nation on Earth as a new Great Depression started. China would be one of the nations particularily affected and they would also suffer greatly.

The Chinese government has definitely studied this issue. It has been reported that they call this potential tactic the "nuclear option" because the economic effect would be akin to an exchange of nuclear missiles.

The Chinese have really cut back on the purchase of US Treasury debt instruments. The Chinese are have picked up the pace of their purchases of hard assets in the US. US real estate and securities are being purchased.

Gitmo would find itself housing dissidents quickly enough, though, i.e. citizens who get uppity towards the government.

As bad as America has been, Chinese-style rule would be far worse.

Yes I know. I actually see it as a good sign for the US economy that they are planning to build production here. I personally do not find China offensive. If I were not an American, I would find the US more problematic than China me thinks.

Well, for one, they can't. If they did, they would bankrupt themselves. You think they can watch their number one consumer go away?
Two, if they did call their debt, the rest of the world's economies would basically go to hell in a hand basket. We are all connected whether we like it or not.
Three, we go away and so does China and much of the rest of the world.

Basically as Trump once said "I'm too big to fail"...Hence, he had three banks keep him afloat until the economy turned around so he could pay them back. The only difference, he paid back his debt!!

It doesn't compromise our national Interest. I remember back in Japan's hay day when they were buying up a bunch of buildings and real-estate, people were making the same claim. The reality is, they can't take the buildings or land with them. It stays here and they pay taxes to our government by "owning" stuff.
